@/Dev Diary: Discover Ionia - Why doesn't anyone talk about the Kinkou Order?
So, we have
now. The booty-bearing, teleports-behind-you, "nothin personnel kid", blade-miracle-weaver-stripper that single-handedly beat back the brutal Noxian invasion by assassinating the high command. Before she even had an ass. So that's cool, I guess.
She's basically the equivalent to a spoiled child celebrity, bearing immense talent when she was young and developing into a rather narcissistic, self-righteous twat, doing whatever she pleases and believing it just as long as it's for country. Her story is the reason why Swain exists as he does in the lore, and she's revered as, like, one of the best peeps in Ioni ever. Everyone just loves to suck Irelia's dick.
Then there's the Kinkou Order, just gathering dust and circle jerking it because all is clearly well in the world of Runeterra.

Aren't these people supposed to be the admins of this whole thing? Are they not some of the most renowned fighters on the entire planet? Are they not the triumvirate that holds the careful balance of harmony and discord of the entire plane in their palms? Guardians, not of a city, not of a state, or a country, or a king, but instead a universal constant. And it turns out that they're just normies that did really good with their training and stuff, and in Shen's case, happened to be lucky enough to be born into the position. From everything in the lore, it sounds like Irelia could do every job of the Kinkou Order with her fucking eyes closed by herself.
Irelia, to a member of the Kinkou / AKA: Riot, to Shen and Shen mains :
"Keep your 'balance'. Ours is the only side that matters."
Translates to:
"Fuck you and anyone who plays you. We will do whatever we think is best, and you will deal with it. You have no choice, shut up."
I know Akali is getting an update soon.
I genuinely hope Riot takes this shit seriously and looks at the other two thirds of the Kinkou when they decide to roll out a massive change for one of them.
Shen's half-assed rework left him functional, but boring. His kit is fine, but it's also nothing exciting by any means. He doesn't feel like someone who danced through the capital city of Noxus battling demons as he blinked in and out of existence, keeping mortals safe from the harm they cant even comprehend.
Kennen can command fucking lightning, but he's basically a worse ADC with: a poke, a detonate, and a(n) speed/attack speed steroid, as well as an ultimate that requires you to be under your enemy's sack for it to be fully effective. Just like real lightning...?
I would love someone to actually nut up and acknowledge this.
The skin team mentioned Shen first when it came to champions who are overdue for skins, and then immediately afterwards we see the release of a Rumble and Wukong skin that were, at most, met with a lukewarm reception. When new Akali finally gets rolled out, how long is Riot going to let that gaping chasm in thematic continuity exist between her, Shen, and Kennen? When Spirit Guard Udyr dropped, it gave Riot an excuse to never give him another skin for the next three years, and also, barely altered any of his core gameplay as a result.
If Shen gets his pity skin, is he doomed to just stay with the same, boring god damn kit for the next four seasons? Despite the fact he is one of League's oldest, most renowned champions? The only satisfactory option I could think of is: the new skin is a post-rework release ( like Dragon Master Swain ) in order to save Riot the manpower and resources of remaking a new skin for a new Shen rig, however the likelihood of that happening without even a whisper of it being leaked to us is extremely low. Let's say Shen stays the way he is with the coming of the newest skin for him.
How long will it take Kennen to get his rework? Five more years?
I am very interested to see how Riot wants to dig themselves out of this hole, or if they'll even acknowledge that they're in a mire, wading waist-deep in shite. Does anyone else feel like other champions are critically underrepresented?
