Kindred is the Ruined King

Note: There are spoilers to the new Shadow and Fortune lores for Hecarim, Thresh, Kalista, Mordekaiser, and Karthus. If you have not read these, read them and come back. Thanks!

With the new Shadow Isle lore rewrite, a lot of new information has been uncovered relating to the origins of the Shadow Isles, as well as backstories for five Shadow Isle champions. I believe that Kindred is the "Ruined King" that we hear about in the lore. In Hecarim's new lore, it tells the story of a mad king and his ill wife, and the spell he cast in the Blessed Isles that transformed it into the Shadow Isles we know and love. All of the new lores connect to the spell and the consequences it brought, but people forget to remember why the king cast the spell in the first place. The king cast a spell to kill both himself and his wife and forever connect the two in death. I believe that Kindred's Wolf is the spirit of the Ruined King, and Lamb is the spirit of the deceased Queen. This would also connect because of Kindred's rivals: Karthis, Hecarim, Thresh, Yorick, and Mordekaiser. It is worth pointing out that in the second part of Kindred's lore, it is evident that Wolf and Lamb dearly care for each other, and may have been lovers in another time, but that's not confirmed evidence.

Edit: I would like to start off by saying that there is no detail connecting the events of the Shadow Isle lore to a certain time period. The only thing that is clear is that the Harrowing has been taking place for centuries. Secondly, I have been told that the event of the transformation from Blessed Isles the Shadow Isles was called the Ruination_

In a way it has a unique headcannon, but both the headcannon and this don't make sense UNLESS "Ill Wife" If the wife already died.. then the man would be very lonely and shunned for cursing his land.. and yea..

There was this big theory that Hecarim was the ruined king, Mordekaiser betrayed him, and the West Altar's quotes backed it up, but the new lore re-writes have thrown that theory out the window

Dude.... its super clear... The male spirit of the altar is the Ruined King, he "created" the Shadow Isles after he tried to resurrect her wife... the female Altar.

Born into an empire long since gone to dust and forgotten, Hecarim was squired to a legendary company of knights known as the Iron Order, a brotherhood sworn to defend their king’s land. There he endured the harshest training imaginable, a punishing regime that schooled him to be a formidable warrior.

Hecarim rode to the capital, and met with Kalista, the king’s general. Hecarim remained with the king as he descended into grief-induced madness.** Gripped by paranoia, the king raged at those who sought to separate him from his dying wife and despatched the Iron Order to quell what he saw as dissent throughout his kingdom. Hecarim led the Iron Order in bloody suppressions of discontent, earning a dreadful reputation as a ruthless enforcer of the king’s will. Villages burned and the riders of the Iron Order put hundreds to the sword. The kingdom was in darkness, and when the queen died, Hecarim spun falsehoods around the king, speaking of how he had uncovered the truth behind her death, seeking sanction to lead the Iron Order to foreign lands and earn yet more dark renown. Before he rode out, Kalista returned from her quest. She had found a cure for the queen’s malady upon the legendary Blessed Isles, but was too late to save her. Horrified at what had become of the kingdom, Kalista refused to share what she had discovered and was imprisoned for her defiance. Hecarim saw an opportunity to win yet more favor and visited Kalista’s cell. Promising to keep the king from any rash actions, Hecarim persuaded Kalista to reveal what she knew. Kalista reluctantly agreed and guided the king’s fleet through the glamours veiling the Blessed Isles from sight. Hecarim led the ruined form of the king to the center of the magical island, where he met with its guardians and demanded their aid. The guardians offered their sympathies, but told the king his wife was beyond their help. Enraged, the king ordered Kalista to kill the guardians one by one until they relented. Kalista refused and stood between the king and the island’s inhabitants. Hecarim recognized a crossroads in his life and made a decision that would damn him for eternity. Instead of supporting Kalista, he drove a spear through her back and commanded the Iron Order to slay the inhabitants of the Blessed Isles. Hecarim and his warriors slaughtered the guardians until a lantern-bearing wretch finally led the king to what he sought - the secret to resurrecting his wife.** But when the queen returned to life she was a horror of decayed meat and maggot-ridden flesh who begged to be allowed to die once more. Repulsed at what he had done to his beloved wife, the king enacted a spell to end their lives and bind them together for all eternity. His conjuration was successful, but unwittingly empowered by the many potent magical artifacts stored on the island, its power was increased a hundredfold. A hurricane of black mist surrounded the king, spreading across the island and killing everything it touched.

The Altars are from the Twisted Treeline. We can use them as evidence now, but just know the voiceovers are VERY outdated (like, back when people thought that Hecarim was the king)
It really isn't as "super clear" as you might think. Besides, it's just a theory. I'm not saying it's true

I dont know who thought that Hecarim was the king... he has been a General from the Shadow Isles since his release.

I would also like to mention that the West Altar proclaims "For The King!" if a Shadow Isle champion is near it, and I doubt a Queen would say that about her husband. It just doesn't match up

And it seems that she doesn't remember him clearly.

Aside from the fact that Mordekaiser is also a King and she could be talking about him as well.

Its. Not. Mordekaiser. He has complete control over all of his followers, why would he want one to just randomly shout "For The King!" from an Altar

something is off about that theory as well "the king enacted a spell to end their lives and bind them together for all eternity" so why are the alter separated. also Mordekaiser can thus far only control the souls of the spirits he kills so why do they serve him?

Thing is though, Kindred predates this by thousands of years at least. As is said in Kindred's long lore, some of the first legends ever made by humans in Runeterra were about them specifically. That kinda throws a wrench in all of this since Kindred's existed for far longer than the Shadow Isles, far longer than any man made empires, far longer than perhaps even all life that has ever existed on Runeterra.

kindred can be the ruined king A: in hecarims lore the king was stated as a he trying to bring his wife back from the dead. if anything the king is wolf while his wife is lamb. thats at least how i think it went down but then their was the oathsworing thing the king did.

Kindred is, and always has been, a spirit of death. And the reason they are enemies to the Shadow Isles champs is because, as death, when someone isn't staying dead, and is causing others to do the same, it really throws a wrench in your plans

But who says that Kindred isn't the one sending the souls to the Shadow Isles in the first place, and the other champions are rivals simply for lore reasons
