Battlecast: The Nature of the Void

As we all know, the Battlecast line of skins, story tidbits, etc. are from an alternate dimension where Viktor's Glorious Evolution conquered Runeterra. Many of the Champions who were converted were from the Void. Now at first this sounds all fine and dandy right? WRONG! The Void is supposedly a place between dimensions, but not a dimension itself. Where do I get this? Cho'Gath's lore.

There is a place between dimensions, between worlds. To some it is known as the Outside, to others it is the Unknown. To those that truly know, however, it is called the Void.

So this means that there are only three possibilities.

  1. There are multiple versions of the exact same voidborn. There are two Vel'Kozes, two Cho'Gaths, etc. Not just members of the same species, but exact duplicates. This could mean that the voidborn are like bees in that their DNA does not vary among members of the same species. I find this highly unlikely, due to the voids rapid evolution.

  2. The Void is not a place between dimensions, but is a dimension itself. This would allow there to be alternate dimension forms of the Void, which would allows one Void's Vel'Koz to travel to our Runeterra, and a separate Void's Vel'Koz to travel to a separate Runeterra.

  3. The Battlecast are from the future. Either the voidborn on our Runeterra one day travel to an alternate dimension, or the far more likely an alternate dimension Viktor travel to our Runeterra. Viktor then proceeds to enslave Runeterra, and sends his minions back in time.

The Void is a mysterious place already, and this just makes it more mysterious.

TL;DR: The Battlecast prove that either the void is not a place between dimensions, or that the voidborn have no variation among species, or that the Battlecast come from the future.

tl;dr skins ain't canon.

There's actually not that much that the skins infer about creatures of the void other than they have a biology that can support cybernectic enhancements in some way.

of course it is 2, just because it says its between 2 dimensions doesnt mean it isnt its own. the void is clearly a place that people can potentially visit and possibly study.

I'm pretty sure the Battlecast series is meant to represent a possible future for Valoran, a.k.a. they are from another timeline.

I think that they are thinking of timelines =/= dimensions, and dimensions being places such as the worlds of taric malphite runeterra and morg/kayle's world.

Battlecast skins are from an alternate reality where Viktor has conquered most of the known world for whatever reason. Jayce and co. are the last remaining pockets of resistance.

Pulsefire Ezrael's battle suit also comes from this alternate reality. Buuuut I can't remember if he travelled back in time, or if the suit was thrown through time and found by Ezrael in the current timeline. Or both at once.

the alternate realitys also have alternate versions of the void.

The void is a world that lies between dimensions, but dimensions =/= alternate reality.

With dimensions they most likely mean stuff like the spirit realm(from bard),the celestial realm(from soraka) or the angel realm(from kayle and morgana, but well that might be retconned in the future) and not the alternate versions of runeterra.

Well, there are two hypotheses in physics which are trying to explain some quantum effects: one is the Many Worlds theory, and the other one is the Multiverse theory. The first one suggests that there may be infinite number of variations of a universe. The other one suggests that there is an infinite number of different universes. Double the infinite number xD So.. the Void could technically be a part of the Multiverse, like a different universe apart from Runeterra. And the BC time-line could be a future version of Runeterra, with a different version of the Void interacting with it!
