Riot´s lore decisions are unpleasant - let´s fix them and create our new

So, after the Tryndamare and Reginald thing has not yet settled down, let us steal riot´s old concepts and content, and fix the very low quality new content. We could call it Legend of the League, so Riot could not sue us. Though any new names are welcome, i just pulled that one out of my arse, it has an actual meaning besides being a swap of the original name, but i am too lazy to actually write it. With what thing should we start?

PS to the mods: Even though my post was written as shitpost, it still was supposed to make a legit discussion about lore. Not always all posts have to be written long and unnecessary, just like when riot says their opinion on something.

The quality of lore has gotten far better... now whether or not you dont like the stories is different, but the quality however has vastly improved.

Well, we all have different opinions on what quality covers. What is the meaning of quality improvement for you in League's lore?

Quality as in generally well written stories and character personalities.

Burning tides being prime example.

It explored not only a story in a well written fashion but also gave us better glimpses of each characters' personalities.

Like i said, you might not like the stories, but quality is more objective (not entirely admittedly.)

I agree with you on the first part. I gotta admit, i tried reading burning tides, but read only a small part of it, because at the time of summer i always come back to just play the game. I'll give it a shot, though one person on youtube made burning tides an example that was not good, but i do not remember most of the parts. I think i remember one part, about Miss Fortune's crew member, i think his name started on R. He complained that a character's purpose of existence is to make another character shine is bad. Well, I'll go read it soon and make an opinion of my own. Thanks for response

Burning Tides is still, probably, not considered to be particularly high class story-telling you'd find in an award winning book or anything, but I do sincerely think that it's the best piece of lore Riot has released, ever.

Since then? Eh. I get where you're coming from, I'm not a fan of the direction they've gone either. But, I do have to agree with MavenSong. The writing quality has improved. The stories themselves? Middling, at best.

Well, i understand. Burning tides did contribute a lot to the lore for sure. Have they since written something like burning tides? The bilgewater event was a longer time ago, about a year. If they would ever decide to write a new lore-event, what would you want for it to be about?

They have written a real short story about Taliyah and Yasuo wandering around. As well as a story about Nasus and Xerath fighting.

Honestly, neither interested me. If I could choose my own lore? It would be the people of Targon murdering the space parasites that keep possessing them and then turning on Sol and telling him to get the hell off their planet. That's not going to happen though.

The other would be the war between Noxus and Demacia. If done well it could be interesting.

Those weird folks who sit inside Pantheon and Leona and Taric enslaved Aurelion Sol so he has to listen to their orders because of the Crown they gifted him. If they didn't do that he wouldn't even be around the planet, that Runeterra is located on lol. He'd be wherever in the Galaxy and having fun with his babies :D

And let's be honest, what can the ordinary people of Targon do against those overpowered freaks...?

Oh yes many times. That's why they just tell him to get off planet without doing anything more. He can go destroy the space parasites by himself in space for all I care.

And the normal people as of now can do nothing. But writers have been figuring out ways for mundanes to do the impossible since stories began. It's just finding he appropriate details and using them.

But again. This would never happen, as I said. It's what I want to happen, which is what Torenaw asked. My own little fantasies of what I want to read about.

I think I might've been that guy. I've had people with actual writing degrees/experience on writing courses comment on Shadow and Fortune about how horrible it is. An entire essay could be written on the grammatical mistakes alone and the best description I've been given on two separate occasions is that the words are something that reminded them of "[a teenager] getting a hold of a thesaurus."

Basically. My original idea is we could try to recreate Riot's lore into something better. Which could over time be shaped by the community, not a closed team of people.

Also we could try to cover topics that Riot still has not covered.

Or just simply discuss lore, and if you find it good or bad, and what do you think got better or worse.

There is no pinned thread where discussing lore freely is the main topic.

Sorry, my original post was very unclear. Actually it was not clearly at all, I just want to see how can this lore dicussion develop.

You want an opinion, fine.

Your Intention to make a discussion about lore is ok, but your opening post is really bad. If you want to start a healthy discussion you shouldn't start it with a "shitpost". Also it's just weird, distracting and confusing for you to bring up the issue with Riot Tryndamere and Reginald here.

Sooo wait a minute. You say the lore is so bad that you want fans to rewrite it,but judging from your comments below you yourself haven't even read anything of the new lore.

You didn't read Burning tides,Shadow&fortune and appearantly none of the shurima related stories either.

Maybe? Honestly I don't watch professional games for the same reason I don't watch sports. I think it's boring as hell.

Playing football? Fun. Watching other people play football? Boring.

Same for video games. I don't think making them lore related will fix that.

For me. I understand others do find it fun. And more power to them.
