So I've been seeing alot of things about how League champions are over sexualized. Now don't get me wrong, I do understand, and agree with the idea of what people are fighting for, but this article does a good job of stating my feelings on the matter, and is very well written. I think everyone (on both sides of the fence) can get something out of this.

"Riot explore some other stuff for female characters,we have already tons of overly sexy ones,it gets monotone over time"

"please make it so that the sexy outfit is also fitting for the character.It is fine that Ahri,Zyra,Elise,etc.are wearing sexy outfits since these characters are meant to be sexy,it is part of their character and adds to them,but why does caitlyn a professional sheriff wander around in something that looks like a stripper outfit?"

You say that there are a lot of female champs who have only skins that are wearing more than caitlyn(since you say a lot of them have no skins that wear less). So just because there are champs who wear more than caitlyn it justifies her running around in something like that? Regardless of what the others are wearing it doesn't change the fact that caitlyns outfit looks like it belongs to a stripperin,which clashes with her character,since she is supposed to be a cultured professional.

I talked about how Caitlyns regular outfit looks like that of a stripper and Catraven said I was writing bs because many female champs have skins that aren't that stripperiffic,which doesn't say anything about Caitlyns standard outfit.
I never said anything about taking skin-outfits seriously,in fact I never talked about skins in the first place,but about the regular outfits of female champs(especially caitlyn),I said that skins don't affect the champion,which is why they are irrelevant to this discussion.
Feather4262 votesTake a look at Officer Caitlin and Officer Vi. These are two actual law enforcement officers in Piltover being given the "sexy" treatment. Then take a look at Constable Trundle and Captain Volibear. They have nothing to do with the law and somehow have skins that look like actual law enforcement.
Now take a look at Surgeon Shen and Kennen M.D. They both are dressed like actual doctors. Now look at Nurse Akali. Not only is she given the stereotypical female role, she gets the sexy Halloween version.
You can argue that "Tryndamere is half-naked, and that makes no sense," but not only is there no effort to make him sexy in his original splash, he is fully clothed in all of his skins with the exception of Demonblade Tryndamere (and I would like you to tell me how he would fit a shirt over that shoulder). Katarina on the other hand is sporting the infamous boob armour with ample cleavage and a bare midriff in her original splash, with every subsequent splash having cleavage (the cleavage is not visible in Bilgewater Katarina and Slay Belle Katarina) and her stomach exposed (in all except for Slay Belle Katarina).

Caitlyn and Vi set the trend and each subsequent skin should match the theme. If Caitlyn and Vi are gonna wear sexy Halloween costumes so should they.

It's a goofy skin that breaks the theme. Although I did buy it. It's fun but also theme-breaking.
I wouldn't call it goofy, more like a stereotype. If there were sexy Halloween versions for the guys, it would be more acceptable.
I wouldn't impugn Katarinas sense of style. She does strike me as sexy assassin who wears what she wants because you'll never actually hit her...But the Tryndamere example doesn't really work because his skins aren't meant as titillation. He is projecting the berserker you can cut me all you want I won't die theme.
I don't have a problem with Kat and I don't have a problem with Trynd. What I have a problem with is someone saying "there are a lot of female champs with no skins with less on. None. There's actually very few, not even close to the topless male champs. So, what you wrote is just bs," because the comment does not take into account the reason the champions are wearing what they are wearing. That is a fair assessment of Kat, I got that vibe from her too, but that is a fairly common way to portray a lady (especially an assassin in my opinion) as far as video games go. Something more avant-garde would be to actually have them covered.

I said it was ok for some champs to run around in stripperiffic outfits,wearing sexy outfits is perfectly fitting for 
and some others as well,because it fits to their personality and/or their overall character design(Sivir is supposed to look like Xena,so adding more armor would ruin that resemblance and Elise is supposed to be a seductress,so that outfit is perfectly fitting).
I am merely against overusing stripperiffic outfits,because sometimes it doesn't fit to the character at all,with the prime example being 
who is supposed to be a professional sherriff and sniper,but her outfit doesn't fit that description at all.
Also there are so many design possibilities,it simply starts to get monotone if most of the female champs have outfits like that(and the above list is already rather long,despite the fact that i didn't list all who fit into that category) and there aren't that many design choices for bras(especially not very noticeable in a game like this,where you see your character from above)

Some people look so hard for anything remotely "sexy" or "feminine" that they objectify the female character, so they could bring about a point.
Sometimes, the only thing wrong is the fact that somebody says it's wrong.
