Fiddlesticks Key Mistake

I'm not sure if this is on purpose, but Spectral Fiddlesticks still has his key.

In a recent Ask Riot, they brought up how "The key Zoe carries around was actually “borrowed” from another champion," and that, "you’ll notice it’s missing from his updated splash art." Now I already knew the key belonged to Fiddlesticks and that it had already been removed from his splash art, but later that night when I went to check I noticed it's existence on the skin, Spectral Fiddlesticks.

Is this on purpose? Does this represent the death of Fiddlestick's original holding on his key? What does it mean Riot?
