Boards tend to look down on comments such as this. But just remember, Riot goes to where the money is. Lux is popular, so she gets a skin.

Personally, I kinda wish they gave it to a more relevant champion to the time period, but whatever.

I had a great disappointment when DJ Sona was revealed because I was intensively hoping for Ascending Xerath and I can understand how hard is to wait again for a long time to see if one of you champions will ever get an ultimate.

This teaser leaves a lot to be desired in my opinion. I doesn't give much insight into the appearance of Lux or her abilities. It's just a teaser for teaser sake. Not much speculation can be made. Oh well. Looking forward to seeing her in-game.

Well do remember that not everyone knows about Elementalist Lux as a concept; the leak wasn't a planned thing. This teaser would've been made with the intent of surprising folks. It wasn't meant to be a major reveal.

Yeah, I get that. I just don't see what we can learn from this teaser. Her lights turn different colors?

For example, with a champion or rework teaser like Ivern, Taric Rework, etc. there is usually information within the video that allows players to build speculation about abilities, role, appearance, etc. I come away from this Elementalist Lux teaser with no guesses really. Just my opinion, though.

To be clear, the video is beautiful. I like the effects. I like the colors and the lighting. But if it did not explicitly call itself a teaser then I wouldn't feel teased. I'll re-watch it though and see if there are any clues. My first impression is just a bit let down I guess?

I HAVE BEEN DESPERATELY WAITING FOR THIS TEASER FOR TWO WEEKS.

I am no Lux main. But do you ever hear the concept of a skin design, and just KNOW the potential behind it? The best part is that this is an ultimate skin, and anything is possible. There is no amount of speculation that can be considered too extravagant either, because the skins team is not being gated by the constraints of the RP cost. At 3250 (the highest price tier of skin), I'm sure they have some pretty incredible stuff in store.

Checking [email protected] hourly since the official leak occurred a few weeks back has finally paid off. Thank you Rito.

I like lux a lot, but there are a couple things odd about this skin. Lux just got a texture update on the Star Guardian skin. And most importantly, she's been in a bad spot for a while.

It's been in production for a year at the least, likely more. They can't predict where Lux will be gameplay wise when they finish the skin. "Oh dear, Lux has a 49% win rate right now. Let's trash the skin & all the work we did on it, it's a waste."
What does updating the textures of one old skin have to do with her getting a new skin?

I would understand if it was the usual "Lux have enough skins, X champs needs a skin" or "X champ would have been a better fit than Lux", but the "odd things" you mentioned.......I just don't see the correlation to the new skin being wasted on her.

It's incredible that you made 3 comments and that you still didn't say anything relevant to at least explain why you feel this way. It can't be a terrible business decision as the skin will sell, even better than SG Lux. Because it's the Ultimate skin. Ultimate skins have the most changes and always feature new tech behind the scenes Riot's been working on to make the skins come alive.

And there it is, it's all so clear now. For you, the viability or in game strength of the champ at the time be the deciding factor on whether you buy a skin or not.

Still it's not a great reason to call the skin a waste, I mean there's other Lux players beside you that would love to get a high quality skin for her. We don't care about shit like win rate when buying a skin for a champ. What we care about the champ & the skin. A skin might I remind you we haven't seen yet. Plus, Lux is still fun to play regardless of her winrate (which is 49% according to Champ.GG, so it's not that bad) unless you suck with her or simply don't her playstyle (I doubt they would buy the skin in the 1st place here). So it's not going to be a terrible decision from a business standpoint because everyone will still be buying the skin because everyone is not you. Might I remind you that this skin is an ULTIMATE skin? This isn't some 750 skin that just change to model. The fact that it's an ultimate skin alone will likely generate some decent revenue.

If it's a waste for you, fine don't spend your money. I'll gladly buy this skin & I'm sure many other Lux players would love to buy the skin. But will it be a terrible decision for Riot from a business standpoint? Hell no.

Imo Star Guardian Lux was the only skin going for her, and with the new skins that came out (especially since Jinx's is 1850) it takes away from her skin. All her other skins, besides SL, do not change her particle affects. So I'm VERY HAPPY that she's getting a new skin and even more so that its an Ultimate. It's deserved imo.

This so much! Lux may have a gajillion skins (all of which I own) but SG and Steel Legion are the only skins with differing particle effects. I couldn't even remember the name of Steel Legion tbh, had to look it up. Lux is an incredibly popular champion, Riot is going to make bank.

umm.. to be fair, ONLY 2 SKINS WITH PARTICLE EFFECTS??? lol. very few champs have 2, and i dont know any with 3. she doesn't need another, but the expectation for an ultimate skin is so high im willing to accept it on any champ, because it must be hard to come up with the ideas for one.

im dissapointed that they go for light and darkness when light is already her thing and darkness can be a skin on its own (corrupted lux or noxus lux) they could have go for earth and air but maybe too hard for her skill to fit that way and dont break the visual clarity? thunder would have look to much like her other skin but only time can say if the skin live to the expectation

And also a texture update only changed her starting game u cant say it as a new skin nor can u say they shouldnt update the skin to match with other ones if u say that then u say that lux not only doesnt worth skins she also doesnt worth as much as other sg skins!

No it's that she is getting so much attention while some others get any attention rarely. Take Zac or Zyra or Gnar for example.

Gets a SG skin then almost a year later also gets an Ultimate skin.

It's been a year and a half already.

And just because a champion hasn't gotten any skins lately doesn't mean they're worthy of an ultimate skin.
