Wanting to Work as an Illustrator for Riot

So, my dream is to work as an illustrator for riot. And my biggest question is, do I need a formal education to have a chance at the job, or can I be self taught and bring the most banging portfolio to the tablet and it be just as good

Probably depends on how good you are i guess But formal education is always a bonus imo

Art degrees are virtually meaningless, show up with a portfolio showing your work, as it will speak more than a piece of paper that says you passed some classes.
