Since the release of Azir, the lore has been lacking some major depth. What I mean is they are really short. Is there a reason for this recent lack of lore? I Personally enjoy the lore of champions especially when it comes to new ones. If I could get an answer that would be great. Sincerely, 
The Lore on the client is super short because Riot has decided to post the majority of it on the website or forums. Er. Boards. Whatever you call this.

It has been because (as I understand it) the lore team wanted to give short in-client tid-bits that give a glimpse at a much larger lore segment on their site. But apparently the site client interactions that they were planning have run into some technical difficulties. I don't pretend to know where they're at in the process or what exactly is going down but it has been said that there is more to it. Granted that's exactly what lore fans don't want to hear, but hey don't shoot the messenger >_
