Lets talk about Bandle City

With the unveiling of the wonderful "Universe" compendium we were given a taste (and in some cases a large spoonful) of updated lore for certain champions and regions across Valoran.

When Kled came out, a lot of buzz returned to the topic of "yordles in general", how they are represented in the world, and begged the question...just what the hell are they?! (It also doesn't help that yordles, like many other things in League Lore have experienced a strange evolution, namely retcons, in it's earlier conceptions.)

Needless to say, the information we received through Kled's bio, his color story, and the developer Q&A was devilishly teasing in regards to these inquiries. The new description provided for Bandle City in Universe definitely sets the stage and lays a foundation that is starkly different from it's vanilla lore. Tristana's new story (as well as Kled's story) gave us some insight into how yordles are seen by non-yordles, and affirms that they are indeed a magically inclined people.

But there still seems like there is a lot of fog obscuring their identity. Now, this will very likely change as Universe moves out of beta and new character/region lore and media content is developed even further across the board. However, it still leaves me wondering why Bandle City (and Ionia, the Void, Bilgewater, Freljord) seemed to get less attention than Demacia, Noxus, Piltover, and Zaun in terms of concept art (Visions of Insert City here) with this big Universe release? How soon will new lore be flowing into the Universe "encyclopedia"? These are questions I hope to see answered in future content! :)

Thoughts?

I think it's only a matter of time before Bandle gets its time in the spotlight. The Trist lore kicked butt though. I enjoyed it a lot.

The reason why the aforementioned factions have not received the same development as other is, in my opinion, a matter of time and prevalence. Bandle City and The Void were not ready in time for the Universe beta. Demacia, Noxus, Piltover, and Zaun were given priority because these are the big four factions of League, with Ionia and Bilgewater not far behind. Ionia is still in the dark, but has received some development, and Bilgewater has the benefit of Burning Tides to keep it afloat, and was the first faction to be brought up to date.

Bandle City has always been something of a mystery, so it feels like Riot is still wrapping up the finer touches of its design before unveiling it. The Void is lacking for similar reasons because for the longest time the only thing we knew about it was "dark, scary, dangerous." From what it looks like, Riot is aiming for a very H. R. Giger/New Phyrexia aesthetic instead of the cosmic horror precedent Cho'Gath established.

I think the reason for this might be that we actually didn't get a Bandle city champ for such a long time.(sure we got yordles but none that are from Bandle) I mean Bandle citys latest champ was Lulu in season 2 and aside from that we only got the Tristana-rework which didn't even come with a new lore(she got now a color-text,but that has nothing to do with bandle as well).

So yeah,Bandle has been out of focus more than any other faction.
