@Jaredan, I have a question about the state of lore... Please don't ignore this.

Hello. So I've been seeing all the threads about 'lore now' and 'its state'.

First, I know (or at least think so)- the short, in-client lore entries are supposed to be served as kind of a summary, and not as a full bio or a full, 'detailed' story. They are supposed to be bundled with longer stories, bios, media and articles that you, Riot, can't implement due to said tech issues. I mean, although it's kinda weird that it's been in the works for so long and wasn't released yet, but I can somewhat understand that (and I sure hope you're not lying to us, cause I somewhat still have faith in you, Riot).

Anyways, obviously, the retcon and massive lore changes were probably announced a little bit too early, and we really haven't got that much of the dev-blogs (I may be wrong and just don't remember the dev-blogs if they were ever made) and communication that were promised in the _"Exploring Runeterra" _ dev-blog (Although** I do wanna thank people like Jaredan**, who at least try to communicate with us).

Yeah, okay, we got it Riot- You f*cked up, i guess- And shit happens. But since we've never had so much of the frequent lore changes that were expected to come soon after the announcement about the big retcon, a lot of us kinda lost faith in the Narrative team. Though, again, I haven't entirely lost faith in you. From all the red posts about the current state of lore, it seems like you have a lot of thing in development, regarding lore. And you know what, Narrative?** I believe you.** Why do I believe you? I don't know. I honestly don't know. Might be because I'm innocent, a fool, a fanboy, a patient one, or whatever, I really don't know.

But I have one question: Now that the Bilgewater event- Burning Tides - is coming, we've recently seen these short lore entries appearing in our clients again (on the PBE for now), this time for Gangplank, Graves and Twisted Fate. Now my question is, Jaredan (or any other member of the narrative team, in case you're reading this by any chance), why keep releasing these and disappoint and confuse players, if you aren't ready to insert the bigger lore entries yet? And again, I understand your decision of putting the short lore entries in the client as a kind of a summary-only thing, and release the large rest somewhere else (That is not the Boards I hope), but still, why not just bundle short entries with longer ones?

I really don't hate the new lore (as much as there have been), I don't even dislike it, I think that it does have a potential, but I just think that the way the Narrative team manage things is not the best, and I'd be glad if we could help you guys at Narrative to improve and manage things correctly (and more communication from other members of the department won't hurt too).

-_-

As I was about to finish writing this thread, I realized that my questions may be answered later this month with the 'exciting stuff that should come soon/later this month', according to Jaredan. We'll have to wait and see. Anyways, Jaredan, if you can answer my question regardless of the 'upcoming stuff', it would definitely be pleasing. :)

Their intent with the short bios was to have a link with the short bio taking you directly to their champion page on the main website, where all their lore would be displayed form your viewing pleasure. The reason being (if I remember correctly) that the client is shit for displaying actual lore, so they wanted to have a short summary that would then lead in to videos, comics, walls of text and what have you.

So the reason why the two aren't bundled together is because the proper lore is not intended to ever grace the client ever again, so it won't be released with any pbe patch. It'll be added (hopefully) when Burning Tides hits live and brings with it Black Market Brawls, MF and GP VUs and some lore stuff. That is providing the tech issues do indeed get fixed with this.

Also spoilers is probably a reasonable reason. They wanna put all the lore stuff out with the event when it actually gets underway, as opposed to in chunks before anything actually starts.

Hopefully I explained that reasonably well, but keep in mind I'm definetly not Jaredan so everything I said may be complete bollocks and not true. I'm not a mind reader, I just hypothesize off of conjecture.
