Heart Seeker Quinn Disappointment

What a joke. Over the past few year Riot's skin team has really stepped up and produced lots of high quality skins of a wide variety of themes for lots of champions. Quinn's newest skin however, completely shits the bed in comparison.

Of the 134 current champions in the game, only 31 do not yet have a skin in value of 1350 or greater Alistar Cassiopeia Elise Evelynn Gragas Irelia Jax Kalista Karthus Kennen Kled Malzahar Mordekaiser Nidalee Quinn Rammus Renekton Rengar Shaco Shen Singed Sivir TahmKench Talon Trundle Twitch Vayne Volibear Warwick Yorick Zilean

Of these 31, eleven have less than five skins Cassiopeia Elise Evelynn Kalista Kled Quinn Rengar TahmKench Talon TrundleYorick

I'm not going to try and argue in favor of champions like Cassiopeia, Evelynn and Yorick who have not received skins in many, many years.

I am here to complain about Quinn's forth skin, and how Riot has dropped the ball.

December 6th: Two new Heartseeker skins on PBE. Lucian 1350 and Quinn 975. This is the first issue. They both have three skins currently. But Lucian's Project skin is 1350 plus his classic outfit has three chromas. 2016's two Valentines skins, Heartseeker Orianna (1350) and Sweethear Sona (975) prices made sense because Sona had recently received her DJ Ultimate skin and Orianna did not have any skin worth more than 975. 2015's two Valentines skins, Heartseeker Varus (1350) and Sweetheart Annie (750) follow in a similar fashion. Varus only had three skins at that point in time (Arctic Ops being the only one above 975) while Annie had eight skins at that point in time (Annie in Wonderland being a legendary skin).

Why did Lucian get the 1350 skin instead of Quinn?

December 7th: Riot releases the first changes to Heartseeker Quinn. Changing the top of her stockings into something stupid The community on reddit.com/r/QuinnMains was displeased with this change and sent dozens and dozens of suggestions, picture edits and all kinds of feedback to the dedicated Rioter on Twitter to no real success.

Why were the stockings changed when the issue could easily be solved by making the skin 1350 and giving her a fixed model?

December 8th: Colour adjustments, no issues with those changes but still upset with the new tights.

December 12th: KateyKhaos tweets out "final texture changes for Heartseeker Quinn."

This is the biggest issue I have right now. Riot checked off Heartseeker Quinn as "done" by the twelfth of December. That was 42 days ago. Even with Christmas/New Years adding up to two weeks of days where the skin can't be worked on that is far too much time for this.

January 3rd: Splash art is released.

January 11th: Patch 7.1 hits live with Heartseeker Quinn in the same state it was a month ago.

January 25th: Patch 7.2 will hit live and Heartseeker Quinn is still not released. This means that they will have had 43 full days to tweak and edit Heartseeker Quinn and STILL get it ready to be shipped in patch 7.2 (assuming it's even going to be released this patch). Hell, with two weeks between patches they could've taken 51 days to work on the skin, ship it in Patch 7.3 on February 8th and be ready six full days before Valentines day.

So why the hell not??

Why was Quinn not chosen for the higher tiered skin? Especially to Lucian who already has a 1350 skin? Why was all of the feedback from the Quinn player base basically ignored? Why was the skin marked as "done" so far away from its patch shipping day? Why was it scheduled for a patch four full weeks before it should have been? How does the skin team produce over a hundred high quality 1350+ skins but shit the bed on this one? Quinn

I don't think they "decide" on which skins to price at 1350 when they make them, they just make them, see the quality, and ask "would i pay 10 dollars for this?"

Keep in mind particles don't mean everything, Blood moon Elise has two different backing animations, new spiderlings, new particles, animations, and new tech in her human form back legs (they sway when turning like ahri's tail unlike her other skins) yet this skin is apparently only 975 even though I'd fairly understand it being 1350, because not that many people would buy another elise skin for 1350 if they already owned victorious and she wasn't popular during that time the skin was made.

This quinn skin doesn't seem that significant to be 1350, and if they did give her particle changes, she wouldn't be worth more than blood moon elise to say the least, unless she got some new VO lines which likely won't happen. She's not that popular either right now, I expect the skin to be the most of quinn I see all season.

been posting about this issue since the first hs quinn skin tweak, they SHOULD HAVE LEFT HER ALONE

I would imagine it's because Quinn is a LOT less popular than Lucian, and thus is a more risky choice. In contrast, Lucian is guaranteed profit. He's among the most played champions in the game.

I don't disagree with you on any standard. But the reason behind Quinn receiving the 1350 skin, or even having one in general, is that Quinn does not have many particles. It wouldn't be fair to price her skin at 1350, when there wouldn't really be that much changed. There's not much you can do for Quinn unless you put a lot of time and resources into new animations etc, and I think in Riot's eye that's not really worth it. Especially considering she's played mostly, if not exclusively by Mains.

So what exactly does Lucians skin have that makes it better than Quinns from a technical standpoint? Because the higher price isn't about the design, its about the small extras that the skin comes with.

In the end,Lucians skins is 1350 because all spells have new sound effects, the music that plays when he recalls and the slightly different joke. Quinn on the other hand has also several new sound effects for her skills and a fairly impressive recall for a 975-skin. So yeah, the difference between the 2 skins is fairly thin anyway.
