The fact that other champions needed it more shows that this very likely wasn't a move made as a typical voice update like with Lux or something, they're bending the knee to outrage culture. Funny thing is, I wouldn't have even known this happened because I don't play Lee, but a Youtuber I follow that has been covering this controversy just picked up on it, and once one has picked up on it, the others will soon follow suit, and they have a huge combined reach.
Sorry to say but this is a bad move, removing the VO is going to please people that weren't going to play your game anyways, while it angers people that actually do play your game and might now refuse to spend any more money on RP. And on top of that, the reactions I've seen have been that the vast majority of people didn't even know, nor care that Lee was voiced by Vic, so if you hadn't done anything, this would have very likely blown over without any controversy, or at least such a minuscule one that it wouldn't have done anything. Nobody has even been complaining about this up till now! This is also just creepy, considering that I could at least understand not rehiring Vic, but removing his voice lines? That's some freaky un--personing style stuff....
