Warwick's missing backstory.
I would like to present an argument for the reintroduction of Warwicks' black/silver armor on his Tundra Hunter Skin. Any feedback from a Riot dev would be super appreciated. Everything I am writing is in full awareness of the rework. I just want to put down my thoughts in hopes it gives a fan's perspective and might add more depth to future Warwick.
I am one of the many who bought Tundra Hunter WW (it was my first skin I bought). I loved the different look. To be honest while I love playing Warwick (my first main) I was neither a fan of his backstory nor his weird blue/gold/red eyed look.
To be honest Tundra Hunter was always a "recolor" or "chroma". But I would argue you took tons of story away and solidified its place as an overpriced chroma when you changed the armor to gold.
I loved the /theme/ implied in the original Tundra Hunter Warwick. Was this a Half-man half-wolf wild beast of the north? Is it an alternative story where Warwick was not Zaun Scientist but rather a crazed watcher-worshiping wintry warlock whose spell went wrong and turned him into a murderous wolf? Is he a fighter for Sej or Trynd (he shares their armor style and color).
Instead when the texture rework was released we got "here is Warwick with white fur". It was lowered to the level of boring chroma. In the same way Beach Party Leona chromas add nothing to her backstory. Just a color change. Even Bubblegum Zac or Orangejuice Zac have more fantasy to their recolors. The new Mecha Malphite Skins feel great- like they are different brands or merc groups that own the mechanical monstrosity. But Tundra Hunter gets none of this uniqueness.
Please keep this in mind when you remake his skins. I'm a big fan of your last VU's and I want Tundra Hunter to get the same justice. And I want black armor. I loved the black armor it felt so freljord-y.
