New rework yet again same character

In case you did not notice there is trend in which RIOT completely removes champion character and replaces it with this terrible copy/paste cocky monstrosity. They force this recent character everywhere, even where it doesnt fit.

"Different champion same character."

Swain,Nunu, Aatrox, Ezrael... these champions have been ripped of their character and replaced with this cocky / narcissistic teenage kid quotes / voiceover.

In my eyes they seem same character with different quotes. Riot may think this is cool but for me it is disaster and proof of lazy work.

I am very disappointed. If you agree please make your own post so message will reach right people.

Why are you unsatisfied with Nunu's rework? He didn't have a character before that, it was just a dude on a yeti. A lot of people thought the yeti was Nunu, that's how much he lacked as a character.

Swain's backstory was "he has a dark and mysterious past" and literally nothing else. I guess they made him not a cripple and took his bird, neither of which defined his personality.

I also think Ezreal's new character is not too dissimilar from his old one, he just more reasons than curiosity to explore.

Aatrox and Ezreal were much more noticeable changes. Even though I believe their old personalities were 2 dimensional or vague archetypes without much too them, that is fair enough that you miss them. In my anecdotal experience, people just projected a personality on the old characters as they were so shallow and poorly defined, so when the reworks give them a more defined one, they become unhappy that what they originally thought isn't the case. I'm not saying you are doing this, but consider the possibility.

How are they the same character?

Swain is calm, calculating and ultimately does bad things for the greater good.

Nunu is a cheerful child who loves to play and have a good time and who wants to prove himself to Lissandra(who hides her evil nature from him)

Aatrox is a fallen god-warrior,who is tormented and frustrated by his imprisonment that he is going insane, wanting to destroy everything because he himself seeks death.

And Ezreal is a narcisstic teenager who hopes that his disappeared parents will return if he makes himself famous enough(which is where his narcissm is coming from).

Swain, Nunu and Ezreal are updates that made the characters what they are supposed to be from the start. Ezreal wasn't a big change since he only needed some tiny gameplay changes VU and got new stories to develop his character. If he got a bigger change it wound be "ezreal is gone" and now where he is changed to the level he needed to be is "Lazy work"

I thought Nunu's rework was a huge improvement over the original. Sure they function differently from each other gameplay wise, but from a Story/Lore perspective the newer Nunu is much more fleshed out & Willump has more to him now than he did previously.

Swain's update was another one I enjoyed personally. Sure they retconned certain aspects of him like having Vastayan Blood (something like that) and Beatrice. Yet despite that, they added more to him & the Noxian faction altogether. Honestly, If a Noxian Soldier stated that he would prefer working directly for Swain, I wouldn't blame them. He seems much more wiser compared to the original.

Nunu's rework was amazing, what are you talking about?

Nunu actually feels like a real child with his snowman friend

Swain was amazing, Nunu was pretty good, Aatrox was great, and Ezreal has an ok one i guess. the first 3 though aren't narcissistic really at all. Ezreal yes, but the other 3 no.
