Who is the absolute strongest champion? (Lore wise) - League of Legends Community

i wanted to bring this back as nobody truly concluded who is the strongest champion lore wise from the discussion lux chogath wukong annie ryze xerath jax nasus and a few others were all ranked very highly although i think aatrox is the strongest personally as in his lore he is one of a very small amount of a very powerful race and he was famed as being able to WIN ANY BATTLE with a price to be had which makes me think that he could win any battle he encounters not to mention he had ressurection so i want to see everybody elses opinions on this

It's Jax.

His lore says that he was so OP that the Institute of War had to put restrictions on him...

Then he put restrictions on himself...

In the form of using a lamp post as a weapon instead of an actual weapon.

Then since the restrictions didn't do anything in curbing his power, they lifted their restrictions from him.

To which Jax decided to keep using the lamp post.

Veigar opens black holes and corrupts cosmic energy

ElJanitorFrank8 votes

I've never understood why people constantly say he can summon black holes. His abilities are named after space terms, yes, one of them has to do with a black hole (maybe more, but whatever I don't remember all the names) but nothing he does is remotely similar to black holes at all.

Trídent5 votes

Players don't know much about champions, so we use abilities to help understand a champion's lore.

Besides, it's about lore not gameplay, his E does barely anything close to a black hole gamewise, but it could hint that he can summon black holes in "reality" in Runeterra

Narasimha10 votes

Or... it could indicate that he's just trying to be flashy. I mean, if he was actually dropping Dark Matter, Runeterra would be nonexistant. Chances are far more likely that he just shoots around dark power, and calls it by big names to scare people. Which would be very Veigar like too.

His lore literally says that he is a corrupter of the cosmic energies (and lets not forget that Bard is made of those energies) and master of the Dark Arts: _"As a master of the magical black arts, as well as a corrupter of cosmic energy." _

And aside from in game abilities, in the JoJ (that may or not may be canon anymore) he stole things using Black Holes ( well actually, were wormholes, but the JoJ says black holes)

It had been discussed on another site, who could be omnipotent. It's against Syndra & Xerath mostly, some mentioned Bard ,but it was during his release confirmed he isn't omnipotent.

What do you think an Event Horizon is?

Auroramancer1 votes

Bruh, Event Horizon's are not unique to black holes, just as Coronas are not unique to solar eclipses.

Uh let's see: probably between Veigar and Syndra . Depending on how you interpret abilities- Veigar would come out on top- but Syndra literally is just holding a temple up in the sky for the fun of it.

Catastrop6 votes

Bard Veigar Xerath Syndra One of these. A Celestial being who literally travels the cosmos through time and space, a Yordle who is a master of all the arcane, an Ascended and a Sorceress whose full potential hasn't even been tapped into yet.

Actually, Riot said that he was there when Shurima fell, but he didn't intervened.

But yes, Riot also said that he cant travel trough time.

Because as far as we know, the Shurima Event wasn't that big of a deal for Bard to actually intervene.

I'd say Malzahar

-Has the gift of foresight, due to formerly being a Seer. -Friends with KogMaw , who literally devours everything in his path without ever being satisfied. -Leads the Cult of the Void, who are hell-bent on bringing the Void to Valoran (due to visions of a dark apocalyptic Valoran conquered by Void creatures.)

Vistha Kai1 votes

Malzahar by himself can merely summon a little voidling.

Limitanei3 votes

If I had 10 RP for every time "the little voidling" saved me from being killed in-game, I'd have enough to buy DJ Sona, and be able to buy Skin Boosts in ARAM 10+ times in a row.

Vistha Kai2 votes

If I had 10 RP for every argument in a lore discussion that's based entirely on the in-game kit, I'd have every champion skin ever made.

Lore is what a champion can do, but does not necessary do in the game.

In case of Malzahar he can go from door-to-door playing a jehovah witness looking for people who actually hold the power to start the Void invasion.

Can I say how funny it is you tried to counter his argument by dismissing your own argument?

In the lore, Malzahar is described as being a harbinger, with creatures of the void of all kind following in his wake, such as Kog'Maw. His Voidlings are simply parlor tricks but don't disappear as they grow stronger, his Call of the Void are actual portals, instead of damage emitters, to pass through, and his Null Zone is less a decal with %hp damage and more a bottomless pit into the Void itself with no return.

Malzahar is also described as using "dark matter" when he was introduced and none of his lore has been changed.

To be fair, lorewise, Malzahar can open portals to the void... but he doesn't know what will appear from the portal and he cant control the creatures that appear from the portal.

He was lucky when he summoned Kogmaw and the Voidlings... but imagine if he opens a portal and a creature like RekSai or Khazix appears, I'm pretty sure that those creatures would eat him instead of helping him.

Nilok1 votes

Kha'Zix is actually on good terms with Malzahar, so he wouldn't be worried. The only one he may be worried about is Rek'Sai since she doesn't seem to have any intelligence, though due to being touched by the Void (Old) Gods, Malzahar would probably be fine even if she was summoned in his presence.

Basically since Malzahar is the beacon for the Void, he has been the reason all of the Voidborn have been summoned.

"Even now, something dark stirs in Icathia, perverting the summoning rituals of the League to allow the presence of Cho'Gath."

This was most likely Malzahar's first work.

You are assuming those things, Chogath was summoned by summoners of the League (old lore, has not been changed yet) and not Malzahar.

The creatures of the void can enter to Runeterra without help of him, just look at Velkoz lore and Khazix, they weren't helped by Malzahar at all. In fact, when Velkoz appeared in Runeterra, he was alongside other creatures of the Void, and he killed them because they were interfering with his "plans".

Other aggressive creatures of the Void, like Velkoz or Reksai, would kill and eat a random lesser creature that opened a "door" for them.

The fact is, that he cant expect that all the void creatures will be friendly with him because he is "allied" of them... As someone said "That's like expecting the lion not to eat you because you didn't eat him"

Nilok1 votes

Cho'Gath was summoned by summoners in error, something from Icathia stirred causing the summoning to be perverted (they didn't want to summoner Cho'Gath). There have only been two individuals to stir Icathia, Kassadin and Malzahar, my money is it was Malzahar, at the time of his rebirth.

The creatures of the void can enter to Runeterra without help of him

Kog'Maw's lore disagrees with you

When the prophet Malzahar was reborn in Icathia, he was led there by an ominous voice which thereafter anchored itself to his psyche. From within, this voice bestowed upon him terrible purpose, and though Malzahar was no longer tormented by its call, the voice did not cease its unrelenting summons. This baleful beacon's gentle flicker - now fastened to Runeterra - drew forth a putrid beast that ambled across a threshold it did not understand, widening a fissure between spaces which were never meant to meet.

When Malzahar was touched and reborn, he became the beacon and focus of all Voidborn entering into Valoran. This is why Kassadin has been trying to kill him, and why Malzahar wants to recruit him. If Kassadin can break the beacon, the Voidborn need a new anchor, while if Malzahar can have Kassadin join him, their beacon would be that much stronger.

Other aggressive creatures of the Void, like Velkoz or Reksai, would kill and eat a random lesser creature that opened a "door" for them.

It less, not expecting a lion to eat you, instead, it would be like expecting the Spawn of Cthulhu not to attack you because Cthulhu himself has chosen you to do his will. These aren't some animals (mostly) from another planet, these are eldritch abominations, and their god has a plan involving Malzahar, and you can bet your right hand that they do not want to piss it off and attack Malzahar. Would you want to knowingly bite the hand of the god that opened the door for you through a prophet?

I would argue that even the more animalistic Voidborn would not attack Malzahar to avoid the wrath of their god, even in another plane, or they can feel it through Malzahar.

Riot has mentioned many times that the void creatures have their own personal agendas, and the most of them do not care about Malzahar plans.

Even if Icathia believed that the creatures of the Void were gods and Malzahar blindly believes in what the "Voice" says and threats that voice as a god, it doesn't means that the voidborns have gods.

As i said before, Velkoz, Reksai and Khazix entered in Runeterra without any help of Malzahar... there are other ways, like the item 3512

The "Void Invasion" could be easily a lie that "the voice" showed to malzahar in order to turn him insane and control him... the Fact is that Malzahar cant control the creatures of the void, and they can attack him.

Nilok1 votes

Not caring and actively attacking are two wholly and different things. They may not care that he is trying to bring forth more of the Void, but they sure as hell aren't interfering.

Perhaps not a god, but something powerful enough to reach through the veil and empower Malzahar, something far more powerful than any of the Voidborn we have ever seen so far. Something they would not wish to anger.

You have said that they have entered without Malzahar's help, but doing so you continue to ignore the lore which says Malzahar is the beacon, the anchor, without which the Voidborn would not be able to enter without a summoning like Cho'Gath. We also don't know what the Zz'Rot Portal is. It may may be something of Malzahar's creation to summon more Voidborn (the Zz'Rot?) or if Zz'Rot is the name of the supremely powerful Voidborn that touched Malzahar.

It could be a lie, though there is no evidence to say that, and even Kassadin thinks there is an invasion, which he believes is his purpose to stop.

They can attack him? I could accept they some, like Rek'Sai, may attack him in a blind fury, but I can't find anything in the lore that they ever have so much as raised a claw against him. He can't control them, but they have never attacked him. After 5 years, you would think he would be harmed by at least one of them if they are as aggressive to him as you say they are and how much he is around them.

If you see a shrouded, floating man with a generally poor disposition, exercise caution… particularly if you see any dark, sinister portals or hideous creatures of the void milling about. This may be none other than Malzahar, Prophet of the Void

The Void already had a portal in Icathia before malzahar came,The void just picked a human and brainwashed it to lead the void against the humans. Rek'sai probably was in shurmia before Malzahar existed

Nilok1 votes

There is no evidence of a portal in Icathia, just that the inhabitants learned ancient arts relating to the Void and that Kassadin was almost consumed by the power of the location.

secrets that made him quake with fear at the visions of things to come that were thrust upon him. The power of the place threatened to consume him forever, but Kassadin took the only route available to him in order to survive - he let the Void inside him.

Icathia seems to be described as a resonating area with the Void, similar to many Lovecraft stories where a location is attuned to the old gods and their realms.

Perhaps Malzahar is brainwashed, though I don't think so. Malzahar seems to have seen absolute despair and embraced it, almost similar in a way how Kassadin embraced the Void in order to survive it.

Rek'Sai has possibility be in Shurima before Malzahar, though we don't know how long Malzahar has been the Prophet of the Void. We know he has a massive cult dedicated to bringing forth the Void, which isn't something that happens overnight. It could go one way or the other. Being the most primal, and have been in the area for over a decade, Rek'Sai may be the first of the Voidborn to enter the world.

I forgot which lore I found it on but I'll keep searching. Malzahar statated that he saw visions of the future which void creatures consuming and devouring this world,so he magically helps them transfer into runeterra because he is totally not brainwashed yeah? Btw riot stated that there is may be another portal in the Frejlord

The best part of the Lovecraft mythos is what the characters are told by the old ones are not lies. Just like Malzahar, they are told the most horrible thing, the truth, and it breaks them.

If that was true, then the watchers may have been Voidborn, source?
