Did Kindred Kill Jarvan IV? The Whodunit Revisited

Around four years ago, Jarvan IV went beyond the barrier on a trip of self discovery from which he never returned.

People have speculated that Leblanc, by some means, took his form and has been creating mini-Coliseums across Runeterra ever since. [Well summarized by Redmercy]

However, with the preview of the new champion Kindred, a new question arises. . . Kindred's Splash Art, enlarged

Who is that unfortunate devil with a crown lying underneath Lamb and Wolf, a spooky blue arrow lodged in his heart?

Could it be. . . the fallen Exemplar of Demacia?

His colors aren't particularly Demacian, but he has similar traits to the Jarvans we've seen before. Furthermore, how many other royal lines exist within Runeterra that we know of?

All in all, it is a pretty shaky theory to say that Kindred just happened upon Jarvan IV and killed him, but so far, that seems to be Kindred's bend: find a guy, shoot/chomp a guy, leave a guy.

As for wherever Leblanc comes in, I say let your imaginations go wild.

Finally, the pieces of evidence that led me to this theory are several of Kindred's quotes whose functions currently aren't known (not a taunt, joke, or anything else):

  • Lamb: "Rushing to meet us again, I see."

  • Wolf: "Have we met before?"

  • Lamb: "Long have we shadowed your deeds." -Wolf: "Turn and face us now!"

Now these could be quotes for any of the undead champions, rushing back into combat with death twins incarnate, or just taunts for unique circumstances that RIOT is experimenting around with.

I believe, however, that they might be taunts intended to be aimed at Jarvan IV, but not attributed to him just yet out of RIOT's sneakiness.

No Jarvin IV was either killed by the Noxians that captured him, or is still imprisoned by them. The Jarvin IV that is currently residing in Damacia is actually Leblanc in discuise.

Clearly, the point of that flew straight over your head. What I meant to do was point out that you made an extremely far-flung theory that has no hints whatsoever given in the lore, it's just in complete defiance of it. The lore is supposed to be about Jarvan IV, so why would it switch to LeBlanc half-way through without mention of her? There's no hints, no allusions, no sense or foundation. Which is why I made a joke out of your obscene lack of evidence towards your theory; "what if it was Jarvan in disguise as LeBlanc?". There's nothing that would lead me to believe that in the lore, but hey, no holds barred, right?

I say that it might have been Leblanc and not actually Jarvin because is no substancial proof that it was indeed Jarvin. Meanwhile Jarvin's behavior has been noticably different after his supposed rescue, even so far as to telling Garen to mind his own business when before hand he would have welcomed him along in a heartbeat as they were supposedly the greatest of friends.

Ever since Jarvin's apparent rescue, he has acted entirely as if he were a different person. Even his colleagues have noticed that he seemed not himself after his return. He is even far more unforgiving, and strict than he was before the incident, acting more like a Noxian than the Damacian prince he had been.

If you would like to believe that he is in fact Jarvin than that is up to you. I will believe what I have read in Riot's lore and what it points too, that is my choice.

Ummm.... Im pretty sure that i already made a post here...

TLDWrite again: JarvanIV is not blond. There are more royal lineages in Runeterra aside form Demacia, like in the Freljord and the Shadow Isles.

Sorry to make you repeat anything you've already responded to! Although I originally assumed the corpse in the splash was brown-haired, that assumption may be based off of a trick of the light. As for the victim being either Freljordian or a Shadow Islander, you have an excellent point! I didn't really grasp that there was a thriving royal house in either place, as the 3 Freljordian queens-to-be and maybe Trynd are all of the viable Freljord heirs I know about, and I can't picture the Shadow Island Royalty looking anything but ghoulish and zombielike. =p Still, good thinking! This was still really loose theorywork on my part, and not meant to be taken as gospel. Thanks for reading the post and seeing fit to comment!

Didn't they already confirm that Leblanc is not J4? They did capture him and Sions promo mentions using J4s blood for a charade(probably using it to manipulate J4s mind for Kalamanda)

Please read and re-read things before making wild assumptions.
