The new skin 'rework' for Goth Annie is terrible. It looks like a shoddy job and more than that, it takes away from the whole point of the skin. From dark and brooding, to teenage emo poster girl singing la la la. It's a terrible thing. The backstory for Annie has her literally ensorcelled a 'shadow bear' (basically a demon or undead bear from what I understand of the lore, from a place called the 'Voodo Lands', and I'd bet has at least some connection to, I don't know, the 'Shadow Isles'), and has her parents being practitioners of Dark Magic.
"At the age of two, Annie miraculously ensorcelled a shadow bear - a ferocious denizen of the petrified forests outside the colony - turning it into her pet."
Her quotes in game add to this scenario of someone with dark powers, and a dark mindset:
"I'm rubber and you're... on fire!" "You smell like burning!" "Eeny, meeny, miny, burn!" "I never play with matches." "Ashes, ashes, they all fall down."
Not to mention her tone, or her massively evil laugh.
I mean, her title in the game is literally "Annie, The DARK CHILD", (not Annie, the pretend emo)
The old Goth Skin art conveyed all of that. Honesty, that skin felt far more true to Annie's personality (from her quotes and back-ground), then every single other skin she has. Let the rest of the skins be the 'pretty' shell people pretend she is. Not that one. Even the 'Chinese' one has her as a nice teenage emo girl flirting with the camera. It's better then whatever intern made this skin, but it's still doesn't fit. Just as people can have epic 'techno' versions of their champions, can't Annie have one that is true to who she is? I mean, imagine DOOM BOTS, if she had the original Goth Annie skin when loading... I'd be terrified! Instead I was 'meh, an annoying little fire girl'.
Even past that complaint above, the artwork of the original Goth Annie skin was amazing. The complexity of the colors, shapes, details, and the lighting allow for a very outstanding piece of art that conveyed a rare thing in the League: something to fear. It portrayed Darkness beautifully. Now it just portrays a Twilight wannabe.
