League needs to update champion lore.

As we all know, the retcon that removed the whole concept of the League of Legends and the Institute was a long time ago. Over two years, really, and with the promise of new narratives and expanding beyond the narrow concept, and what we got out of it has looked fantastic so far: new champions and reworks all show how good the lore can be without relying on making it make sense for the gameplay concept. But after two years, there are still champs that this hasn't extended to: their lore is still outdated and relies on the League of Legends.

How do we fit the old champs with lore that still hasn't been updated into Runeterra's world? Here's a list of champs whose lores relies heavily or entirely on lore that isn't canon now:

Jax Nocturne Fiddlesticks LeeSin Kayle MorganaMalphite Orianna And here's champs that have lore that references it, but still is apart of their lore:

Janna Alistar Brand Chogath MonkeyKing Zilean Shaco Singed Leblanc Sona Nautilus Lux Ahri

Even with this long list, I might be missing some: this is only an estimate, and there might be even more older champions who are like this. Including the unreleased champion, Kled, there are 132 total champions in league. That gives us over 15% of champions who has outdated lore that does not fit into the world of Runeterra.

Yes, the lore is obviously not the most interesting part of League. But it gives us a sense of immersion; why shouldn't every single character in League have some sort of relevance in it's narrative and plot, if the whole reason for this retcon was to give the power to the champions and show that they have a real purpose in their world of Runeterra, how are we going to let these old champs die?

Dude you realize 2 years is only 24 months right? You're acting like Riot's writting team should have been shitting out completely new and changed lore on a constant basis like someone with diarrhea.

I'm guessing we get new lore from Riot roughly once every 3-4 months, devide that up 6 times you get 24 (2 years) and that 6 is probs consistant with the same amount of amazingingly cool post-retcon lore that we've received so far. So get off your god damn high horse you ungreatful pillock.

Just be patient and respectful.

Yeah Riot has admitted they fucked up the retcon and how it was presented to the players. I think the words they used were "scraping everything and having nothing ready to fill the new holes."

But after around a year of nearly nothing I think they are starting to make some decently consistent progress with the new lore. Some of the places they focused were a bit odd, in my opinion, especially when there were champions whose entire role and personality revolved around the IoW that are still around. Some of the lore changes I didn't particularly like. But what you gonna do? They're maintaining at least a decent speed of releasing information and that's all they can really do.

I've made a thread for champions that doesn't have any lore after the retcon. I've made some non-canon lore as a substitute until the real and official lore comes out. Some aren't filled out yet, but I'm getting there.
