Questions about Diana's Lore Changes

I realize this is really outdated, but ever since they changed Diana's lore, I have had multiple questions as to the decisions made. I was wondering if anyone in the community (or someone who actually worked on the story? IDK) could answer them.

Why did they change her from being from the Solari community to an outsider? While nobody likes to admit it, many communities have individuals who are ostracized and deemed outcasts because they don't view something in the same way. The original lore focused on that feeling: the idea that some communities are so stubborn about their beliefs that they immediately shut down any inquisitive individuals. By making Diana an outsider to begin with, her questioning of their customs not only give them the right to call her a heretic, but also just makes her seem an ungrateful brat. In that sense, it's as if whoever wrote the lore was agreeing with the community's inability to accept difficult questions and attempt to answer them.

I guess overall though, I just don't understand why it needed a rework. The lore itself might have been poorly written (I personally thought it was mostly acceptable), but the idea behind it was spectacular. The fact is, it was relatable to those who have been ostracized for not believing in the same things as their community. Now it's as if she's the "bad guy", someone who turned on a people who kindly raised her.

Assuming I read your post correctly I think you are simply reading too much from the Solari elder's point of view and not Diana's. She is constantly finding these facts of a lost religion/civilization and being any caring human being she is asking for help researching it/ an explanation as for why they were wiped out.

Like you said the story does emphasize on society's ability to adapt, but this is the entire reason for her story as a character, from Diana's point of view at least you should have seen her as a missionary of a lost fate possibly that was wiped out unjustly.

From Leona's point of view she is a heretic with hidden knowledge of the Solari and Lunari's past. It's kinda like Jayce and Viktor's lore where, with Jayce's lore, Viktor is out right evil and in Viktor's, lore Jayce is ten times the dick he actually is.
