An incredible warrior, reduced to a beast with a broken soul. A tragic tale of Noxus, lost behind the morals of power and strength.
Leblanc was wrong however. Sion questions, at least he is beginning to.
: Why do I feel...nothing?

He also remembers....
How many Jarvans must I kill?!?!
I love that quote xD
I feel Sion has one of the most tragic backstories in all of League's lore (not the MOST tragical, but still). The Great War Hero that saved his entire nation from annhilation by just sheer courage and determination. His reward, instead of a glorious and peaceful death, was turned into one of the most terrible betrayal. His General and good friend Bhoram Darkwill was too scared to lose him in the aftermath of Jarvan I death, so he created a scheme to bring back his greatest warrior in a sick, unholy and corrupted way. Sion was reborn as a beast of primal rage and destruction, there was almost nothing left of the proud hero that lived once. His entire voiceover is filled with pain and anger while he tries desperately to keep his conciousness from fading and he does so by butchering and fighting, over and over while the only thing he possibly really wants is to just be allowed to die gloriously like he was always supposed to do.
It's one of the reasons I love Sion.

I always wondered how much different Sion was before his resurrection. Was he a nice guy (well, nicer than he is now, anyways)? Did he have a wife and son? Did he love? Did he like anything else besides Noxus and killing?
I now want a movie, with Sion as the "Frankenstein monster" character of the movie; someone with not much free will until the last bit, where he kills Swain with his own hands, and dies in "peace", never resurrected ever again.
I like to think that his violent nature was amplified up to 11 in his undead state. Judging from how Sion dealt with Demacia's attack on Noxus (via going out to kill him instead of hiding behind walls) we can tell that Sion was a man of action. I like to think he was similar to Darius in how they followed their Noxian codes strictly, valuing strength above all.
But what is interesting is that Sion seems less pragmatic than Darius. Strength above all means any means necessary, which doesn't exclude magical power. Judging by Sion's quotes from buying
or
, he doesn't respect magic at all. Considering how Boram (who Leblanc refers Sion as his friend...but it is Leblanc. She could have been teasing) is a man of magical means, their friendship (if it was a friendship) is an interesting one.
Sadly it seems that who Sion was in life was not important, only his death was. Personally I like to think that he was a noble (or of some high status) with maybe a wife (or a hidden wife because Boram has many enemies and they'll use any means to get what they would want, including targeting his allies). After his death they slowly fell to ruin, replaced by other noble families who grabbed their power at the first chance they had gotten.
Now if Sion did have a family I'd wager two things about him.
, who believes that Noxus (and therefore herself) has lost their way. This draws an interesting comparison as Sion died like a true Noxian, but his rebirth may have signaled the point in where Noxus began to lose its way. This could mean his descendent would be destined to return Noxus to the right path.
Another plausible theory are the blood brothers:
and
. They were street orphans, so already we could believe that they have a lineage of a noble family that lost its power after Sion's death (not that Darius would give two shits. If his ancestors were too weak to keep their titles, then they deserved to lose them). Plus there are similarities between Darius and Sion. You know how kids will look like their parents?I have wilder theories of his descendants. Because of how old
is,
(or his body if Beatrice is the one in control) could be one.
could,
could. Hell, depending on when he died,
could be one.
The only ones I can be sure are not related are
and
, but this is only because we don't know Sion's last name. For all we know, he could be the house's ancestor (but I doubt it. Even if his pre-rework lore had them bring him back).
I actually wrote a fanfic on this. This is usually my favorite topic.

- Having a family doesn't make Sion any less of who he was.

Its ironic on how Sion doesn't respect magic, yet everything about him is rather... well, magical. He's undead, and two of his abilities are magic damaging spells.
I think Sion is a bit of a poor sport, as all of his quotes are talking of murder and killing, yet he usually just ends up with assists and dies the most in game; slowly being ignored by the enemy team in some cases. I know I'm basing this all on gameplay, but it can still be valid.
Also could I have a link to that fanfic? I want to see that, cuz that sounds amazing.

It was a while ago. Some redundancies in it.
And on the magic thing, I don't think he's aware of it.

Thanks, this is awesome!
Also, how can Sion be unaware of the magic surrounding him? I can kind of see that he's unaware of the soul furnace's power over him, but the shield made of souls? Really? Surely he cant be unaware of that.
I think I worded that poorly. He's not so much unaware as he is confused. He has many lines that showcase him questioning who he is or why he isn't bleeding/feeling any pain. He didn't even realize he lost his leg until he was locked away.
It's possible that he loses memories as he fights and judging by how he reacts to
, he is somewhat aware of his fleeting memories.
Now some lines might dispute this theory, but take this into consideration:
: I hear the screams!
Those souls are screaming inside him. It's amazing he can probably talk or have any sort of coherent thought when the souls of the slain are stuck inside him. How can one soul keep their individuality amongst many?
Sion is trying, he's clawing away at their cries and fighting for his dominance. All while ordered to the battlefield.

Wow. That is very thought provoking. But he does have a line that says the quiet "eats at him", so I think he can only hear these voices when he's in combat or utilizing the soul furnace.
That's makes the most sense. War has more death and screaming.
How was the story bytheway?

The story was great. It really does give off two sides of Sion: the one that loves murder, and the one that loves a woman. I hope you can make a sequel and Riot sees this, because its really well done for a fanfic.
I don't know if the lore group reads fanfics (I would have really loved a Rioter's opinion on that piece).
As for a sequel, I never really considered it. I've been having ideas that involve Noxus sending Sion into Ionia, and maybe some point of view stories about Sion's first battle. I don't know, maybe I can flesh something out in the future, I need to write something eventually for my own sanity.

I dont know, I have this idea for the sequel where we simultaneously switch perspectives from Sion's wife running away from Boram's "witch hunt", and the people involved in the resurrection process. Maybe at the end, the wife sees Sion again, but he's reanimated and tries to kill her, cuz why not.
Honestly, its your idea; Ill be happy regardless with what you do with it.
I doubt Boram would hold a "witch hunt" after Sion's wife. He made it clear that their relationship was hidden from even his closest friend. Though I never ruled out the possibility of the Black Rose knowing about it, since only the black rose knows what it knows.
Though I find myself wanting to get away from his wife's character because I'm afraid of implanting an outside character of a story and having them overshadow an already existing character. The newest lore reveal is ok with this because this is a new champion, but this is a fanfic, an interpretation of Sion's final day.
Don't get me wrong, Sion is probably my favorite character to write and the topic of his life is one of my favorites (one that I wish I could discuss with a Rioter!) and I'd love to go back to him (I even imagine him fighting
in a vortex of souls and blood).
I need to stop talking and start writing ideas down, else I'll never do anything.
Go and write something magnificent, friend! May Sion's blood guide you.
Unstoppable train of meat and rage, can be turned aside by a small lantern...
God, I just cannot take Necrit seriously. He sounds like Toki Wartooth talking about LoL.
