Champion voice lines and deaf players

I made a post about this in the gameplay forum and was given advice to post it here too. The one who gave the advice said it might get a lot of support here so below is the post, word for word.

My little brother is deaf and doesn't really have a way to experience the champions' taglines like the rest of us do. I was trying to find a way where he (and others who don't hear) could enjoy the champions' wonderful and often hilarious voice lines.

I was thinking of something along the lines of an optional separate chatbox that showed what nearby champions were saying, or an option to have small text appear near the champion as they said a voice line.

I'm hoping this brings a probably overlooked (and small) issue to riot' attention so they might think about putting some energy towards making the game as enjoyable as possible for a certain demographic of their players.

Also, if this is in the wrong place or could go someplace better, tell me where to put it.

I read through some of the other posts regarding deaf players' interactions with the game and it seems like a lot of people are (were?) concerned with global ults with an audible warning but no visual one. I think this might fix that issue as well but I'm less worried about the "unfairness" of the game and more worried about missing content since if it were that unfair for deaf players there would be less of them playing.

Thanks for any feedback, ideas, and/or help.

Like how bots have a beginning and end game quote in chat?

With regard to the voice lines, having a setting, so that the lines pop up in the chatbox upon using 'your own' emotes (since it might be kinda clustering if every single line popped up), sounds like a great stepping stone!!

I really like this idea and think it's something Riot should consider. Not only is that a fantastic way to help deaf players, it would also be nice for people who play with the game muted.

The biggest issue I see is that the chat box could get pretty cluttered with some champ quotes being quite lengthy, or that movement/attack lines might have to be excised or it would move far too quickly.

Still, that could be mitigated by having them appear, like you said, perhaps in separate box, and I'd probably also make them a different font color than actual chat messages, just to make them pop more.
