Riot, Fiora's Visual makes no sense.

How did you even get to where you did on Fiora? Was it the influence from that new horrifying fizz skin? (http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-nCwaLnCv-rM/Va7GwORX2TI/AAAAAAAAFIQ/UYUQs3QjjWo/s1600/fiora1compare.jpg) Just look at it. Does this look like an upgrade to you? Her model looks like an old guy in drag. She's not graceful and she has a bunch of fluff on her clothes. This was definitely not the skin I bought. Why is everything so oversized and flamboyant?

Is this where the hideous old Miss Fortune model went? Into Fiora? I don't understand how you did so well on Miss Fortune's model/Captain Fortune's art only to come up with this for Fiora. Is this some thinly veiled attempt to just piss over Fiora fans some more? Wtf? How did your team's art direction take such a ridiculous turn? It wasn't just the splash art, but the model too. Honestly, I'm not even sure why you decided to fuck with Fiora's visuals. She didn't need it.

And I'm not even going to go into details on how a duelist is now a support bruiser. It wasn't even that bad until I got to the ult. Oh, and I love how she still has mana costs with those CDs.

It's a little hard to be constructive, because there's ...nothing to change other than to go back. You started well on the skills and then just... 8 second window to hit 4 places to get an AoE heal.. Right. Good luck getting that before you get blown up/CCed or they escape. And again, her visuals DID NOT need to change. I'm usually excited to see Riot's new visual updates and splash art because they're usually good, but I can't believe this is what you came up with for Fiora? I already know you guys won't change anything based on your player's opinions once it hits PBE, but still. Ugh.

That Michael Jackson face though..

I'd just deal with all the other negative changes so long as they didn't go through with the Michael Jackson face. I just can't ignore that.

THATS WHAT IT REMINDS ME OF!!!!! ITS BEEN KILLING ME!!! I had finally settled on calling it milf face.

I used to think this was her best skin/splash art I'm glad I never ended up buying it

Aaaand they made a new policy (during the Karthus update), that they won't give refunds for skins no matter how radically changed they are. I have this skin, I have ALL of Fiora's skins, now I don't want any of them. I don't even want to play Fiora anymore, because I'll just remember it used to not look like a joke and get annoyed.

A moment of silence for Fiora mains.

Yea RG Fiora is by far one of the best splashes in the game. I was planning on buying the skin on sale solely for how good the splash looks in the loading screen.

The OP summed up a lot of my thoughts on this whole re-work. I don't know how they nailed it so well on Captain Fortune, splash and ingame model, then this. It really hurts as a longtime Fiora player. It also hurts because I really liked the Royal Guard Fiora skin and I get to see it butchered like... this. Really, I want to know who it is in the art department at Riot Games who has this bad streak with women's faces and have them terminated.

Rune Ocarina3 votes

Well the person who redesigned Royal Guard admitted it here: removed just to be safe =0

You probably should not.

I really dislike this update a lot. Riot has really lost hold of their art direction and this is a crowning example of what they need to NOT do.

Zense2 votes

They're starting to take a cartoon-y direction, which in my opinion, is a bad thing.

Lucifer12 votes

holy crap, what a downgrade.

Retillin10 votes

This is the ONLY reason I am for new refund(s) per season. So when a job is done this bad to a skin I already paid for I can switch it out.

R1102 votes

IIRC you can ask or a refund after gameplay/visual updates through a support ticket.

Retillin5 votes

Unless I am mistaken, they stopped that after the Trundle rework.

R1101 votes

Maybe it was only for larger scale reworks like Sion. I guess you can always try, maybe even after playing a game with it once to better judge how good/bad it is. I think the whole face is ugly thing is a bit exaggerated because faces aren't that visible zoomed out / not facing the camera. <- pretty irrelevant if you don't like the new outfit in general.

Retillin1 votes

Na, Riot KateyKhaos has said multiple times that they no longer give refunds for champ/skin reworks. I can't remember what rework it was that they stopped it on (think it was Trundle but not 100% sure). Well the face, hair, style of the champion is different in some of her skins after this rework. It is the reason I stopped buying skins. If I liked one, it could get changed for any reason.

To be fair, I totally understand Riot's change of stance. If what they say is true (it does sound plausible) and a wast majority (don't remember, but I'm pretty sure it was over 95%) of refunds were issued to people with almost no recent playtime on the champion; people who obviously were just trying to get a free refund on a champion they no longer play, it's understandable that they stopped doing that. Their support already takes a lot of time to answer tickets... doesn't seem sensible to increase that time further, merely to deal with people who want to exploit Riot's refund policy.

Edit: Just as it's understandable that people with legitimate concerns are upset about this change of policy.

Retillin1 votes

Well the question is this: Did people stop playing a champion because s/he wasn't fun? If that is the case, then they SHOULD be able to use a refund to get another champion.

TrulyBland1 votes

Should they? There are ways to test out a champion before buying it. Riot is not responsible for peoples' bad decisions. And they are definitely not responsible for people doing basically the same bad decision four times; seeing as how everybody gets 3 refunds anyway.

I'm also not really sure whether I like that change of their policy (luckily I never needed it), hence why I only pointed out it's an understandable decision. But as for whether somebody deserves a refund because he stopped playing a non-fun champion, my opinion is very clear. Test out champions before you buy them or live with the consequences of being impatient. As a sidenote: I never really understood why people would buy champions with RP anyway; and likewise I don't get why people would want a refund for IP that badly.

Retillin1 votes

I agree, the free week thing is wonderful. And I get the idea of not using the refund as a test on a new skin/champion. But if you really enjoy Eve before her rework, and then stopped playing her after it because you didn't like what happened to it shouldn't you be able to refund it? But not with a hard cap of 90 days you can't refund old champions/skins.

(I agree on buying with RP. I did it once with Vi and that was it)

Ah, absolutely misunderstood your post it seems, and might be you understood mine.

I agree with you, I dislike that people can no longer refund their champions after reworks / skins after VUs. I was merely trying to explain Riot's thought process behind changing their refund policy. According to Riot the majority of people that were using the refund policy stopped playing the champion way before the rework/VU happened. Seemingly people didn't really care about the rework/VU as much as they were just trying to free up some RP by refunding a champion/skin they had already stopped using.

I really hate to say that new Fiora art directive and stuff is disgusting because a team of people spent time working on it and thought it look good, but... Its really awful... :'< Im sorry. Kit is pretty amazing so thats a +.

This I have to agree with.

When I saw the yellow I knew it can't be good, but when shown like this it's beyond my imagination.

Knight Auditor5 votes

I'll withhold judgement on her kit, but this is now one of the worst skins in the game for sure, and the rest didn't exactly improve to make up for it.

Rune Ocarina5 votes

What a crappy way to cover her cleavage...Eff you Riot.

Caustic Crusader5 votes

And I thought that the splash alone was bad enough. I hadn't realized she was actually given a new model and everything, I thought it was just retexturing.

Christ almighty, this looks like a PS1-era character model. I'm sure Rito is gonna listen to the fans this time! /s

Gallowgrim5 votes

I actually like the new base splash better.. but this? Yeah, it's just ugly.

I've seen drag queens look more womanly then that skin.

i see why you guys dislike it hell headmistress looks like they didnt do anything to it but this is day one pbe theres plenty of time before shes on live and many updates will come that being said ya they need to give her a better model

HigeR4 votes

Welp... I can't say she looks super good but I can say that it seems obvious to me that Riot is trying to diversify their women, starting with Diana, Riot has been trying to differentiate them from one another in more than one way, so it's not just: "Sona has boobs, Irelia has ass, Miss fortune has both"

This new Fiora is not your cookie cutter beauty, she looks like one of those high society french girls who aren't overly gorgeous but have tons of class! yeah she may not be the prettiest, but she's not in a beauty pageant. To be honest I think we have enough pretty faces and women in their 20s, this Fiora looks more mature and not that focused on beauty standards and I like it.

The only thing I dislike is her cape thing, there was no need to combine the three stripes because they made her much more gracious.

There are way more offenders to this "barbie syndrome" though, Syndra, Zyra, Elise, Janna, Leblanc, Orianna, Vayne... all of these can be described as the same lady with different haircut and outfit, Gravity Lady, Plant lady, Spider lady, Wind lady, Mage lady, Robot lady, Batman lady ._. Fiora is no longer just Fencing lady, she's THE FENCER and that's the whole point of the VU

It's not about how much older or prettier she looks in the new splash art. It's about the amount of detail that went into it. If you'll notice, the new splash art makes Fiora look like a Disney character. The old one, though, almost looks like a photograph of a real-life woman. It's more realistic, and therefore more consistent with Riot's most recent Champions in terms of artistic style.

well i'm gonna stop playing lol, for one simple reason i loved her ult and no champion besides yasuo whose ult is very diffcult to master has the same wow factor for me. i can live with the work done to her passive, q, w, e, but i cannot digest the work on her ult. I cannot tower dive now, i cannot use it when i'm out numbered to escape for a while so my team arrives. also with old fiora i easily managed 1 vs 2, no other champ for me has the same potential to do so before level 6 and that too easily.

Well it's been fun riot, thank you Steve 'Guinsoo' Feak for making me quit Lol. It's been fun while it lasted, because i know you won't change anything and go on as Steve 'Guinsoo' Feak says. It's like taking brock lesnar or goldberg out of THQ'S here comes the pain game and putting randy ortan's move into him. NO FUN! i want the F5 i want the spear from goldberg but guess what you can't.

if you had to change so much you could have introduced a new character because the art work is real bad she is looking like a pig now by her face i mean. and the kit is changed so much the original players who fell in love with her playing style won't know where to go, we are lost without a champion who got us so many wins and confidence and so many good gaming hours experience. Thank you Riot for destroying the real fiora fans.

I don't care about the skills update. All Fiora mains knew that was coming.

Really though I hate the new skins and art. I own all the skins and I think they are some of the better skins in the game. Night Raven Fiora is probably one of the baddest looking females in league.

Seriously, Royal Guard Fiora looks like a fucking clown suit. Not to mention all the skins are missing the tri-cape thing that makes Fiora Fiora.

I used to be able to deal with her ridiculous French accent because she still seemed bad ass

Now she's definitely the overblown 'surrender at 20' type of French
