We know she is the daughter of General Du Couteau, who supported Darkwill in the old lore. Darkwill's "thralls" were searching for magic that could revive the dead. Shurima = Egypt pretty much. MummiesAmumu . Ascension item 3069 . Azir's resurrection ...

I actually really like the idea. Previously Noxus was already a city state that widely employed necromancy...but honestly I feel that kinda steps on the shadow isle's toes. But if Sion was such an important figure for Darkwill that he had those loyal to him search for ways to revive his greatest champion, that would indeed be a great story to tell, and would explain why Cassiopeia wanted to get into shurima's tomb.

Follow it up with a new story detailing the beginning of the Black Roses plot to overthrow Darkwill, since currently the Kalamanda from the JoJ is no longer canon, we need a new explanation for how Swain became Grand General.
