So Amumu is a yordle?

Recently I was browsing Concepts & Creations boards and I came on a post about Amumu fan rework: https://boards.na.leagueoflegends.com/en/c/skin-champion-concepts/ZVyrJEaX-amumu-rework The post used a picture of a fan visual rework done by Andres Castaneda https://cdnb.artstation.com/p/assets/images/images/009/168/819/large/andres-castaneda-compositeshot.jpg His Artstation: https://www.artstation.com/andres_castaneda But the thing that caught my eye was that one of the comments stated that this visual update altho cool looking can't be Amumu as it depicts Amumu as a yordle and it isn't confirmed by riot if he is a yordle or a child. His lore has multiple versions of him being either a Yordle or a Human kid. I wouldn't shift his visual into something that defines what he really is even if we know it.

He was a yordle in the previous lore,so a lot of ingame quotes still see him as a yordle and so far they seem to stick with that definition.

However,Amumus current lore neither confirms him being a yordle,nor denies it and tbh,I think riot will decide on his species once they give him a visual update and until then they keep him grouped with the yordles.

Poppy's Joke when Amumu is around: I don't get Yordles... too fluffy (Same as with any other Yordle) Gregor in ARAM when buying items as Amumu: A yordle?!... agh!

We don't really know, I'm not even sure if Riot knows. He's considered a yordle for in-game special interactions towards yordles, and of course that nexus post you linked. However, I wouldn't say these sources are canon and it could be entirely possible that the lore team wasn't involved in their creation.

Yordles usually represent the spirit of the area they live in. Think of Poppy (Demacia), Kled (Noxus), Heimerdinger (Piltover) and Ziggs (Zaun). Amumu doesn't really fit that profile, but then again, he's one of the early champions so it could just be a more recent design decision.

Yordle has more customization potential as you see in the fanart so its better this way

Yes, he is canonically a Yordle, though I do not recall where that originally came from though, but it has been the case since his lore update.

The ears don't exactly fit though. If you look at all the existing Yordles, only the females have those insanely long ears, just like only the males have faces completely covered in fur. While we don't know much about Amumu, we do know for certain he's a guy, and a thousand years or so isn't long enough for genetic drift or evolution to cause that drastic of a change that only one gender would have ears like that.

Since Fizz was made into a Yordle of Bilgewater faction, Amumu may as well be the Yordle of Shuriman faction.

Just played Amumu during the Nexus Blitz event with the "1st Daily of Snowdown" quest active, 0/2 "Play 2 games of Nexus Blitz as a Yordle champ", Amumu is not considered a Yordle for purposes of the event :(

Is Amumu from Shurima like Taliyah and Azir are? I've never heard of a Yordle outside of Bandle City off the top of my head, though there is Ionia and other regions as well.

Maybe we'll find out something like he's Yorick's son, Yorikin.
