Is Wu Kong still magical?

With wukongs newish lore update, he tricks Master Yi with a straw clone and some smoke poppies, instead of making a clone from his fur. Is Wu Kong a magic monkey anymore? Will he learn the clone ability through more training or is he a basic ape that carries a straw clone around with him every time he wants to trick an enemy. Riot I need to know.

I think it would be interesting if wukong develop his abilities as the story goes on. Also I kinda want riot to still incoperate his stone born origin somewhere

I would say yes, although we haven't really seen it yet.

Wukong is a Vastayan and therefore intrinsically tied to the magic and spiritualism of Ionia. However your point is certainly valid; that he doesn't use magic for his clone.
