Z.A.C's Lore was Changed. Why?

Zac/Background

**NEW LORE: **

_"Zac is the product of a toxic spill that ran through a chemtech seam and pooled in an isolated cavern deep in Zaun's Sump." _

What the hell is this garbage?

Don't get me wrong, they do rework the lore in a way that almost mirrors the original, albeit quite poorly. I rather enjoyed the pictures that came along with the original bio wherein we see the scientists scratch out his project title and call him Zac instead. It felt better written and more emotionally impactful.

_They sought to show Zac right from wrong, exposing him to acts of altruism and generosity. Their efforts bore fruit, with Zac showing sadness when one of the researchers hurt her hand and reacting badly when another killed a rat in the laboratory. Eventually, they could no longer tolerate the cruel experiments being done to Zac by their fellow alchymists. _ - New Lore, referring to his parents from the old lore.

As seen above they do try and work his old backstory into the new one but I honestly don't see a reason to have ever done this ESCPECIALLY with Warwick's rework. WW is essentially a creation of Singed. If you examine the Zaun Amorphous Combatant Lab Documents there is a picture of the scientists that created him, one of which in the back left looks almost exactly like Singed. So why establish him as a sort of mad scientist, only to scrap all previous referances and replace him with some random dude named Takeda? Not to mention, Takeda only makes an appearance in Zac's new Lore and no one else's. What was the point?

Anyone remember his old Lore about the scientists who didn't want to use him as a weapon but wanted to raise him as a son to be a hero? Arguably the best backstory written in League. Here's his old lore (shortened to the bare essentials but you can still find it on the wiki)

OLD LORE:

_Zac is the product of a Zaun experiment to manufacture a hexchem-engineered supersoldier - the Zaun Amorphous Combatant...Long ago, two Zaun scientists developed an organic substance that could withstand extreme conditions, spontaneously alter its biological structure, and generate tremendous amounts of kinetic force...The couple began to see more than an experiment; they saw a small child, filled with affection and joy...They were struck by their conscience and could not allow the prototype to be used as a weapon. The husband and wife fled with the young blob, replacing its weapon designation - Zaun Amorphous Combatant - with a proper name: Zac....Originally built to destroy, he now protects the innocent and the helpless. _

All this being said, I understand the New Lore is similar to the Old in terms of his relationship with his 'parent's and their reasons for leaving with him but as a college student doing a post-grad in a writing course, I gotta say his New Lord just does not have the same emotional impact that the old noe brought with both writing and visuals. It boggles my mind why anyone thought it was a good idea to change it. It really just pisses me off that someone thought to ix something that wasn't broke.

So whats your problem here? Singed was never the one who made Zac as none of the 4 scientists look like Singed, even if there are a few similarities. If anything I'd say it is good that Singed wasn't the one who made Zac,I mean there are other scientists in Zaun, why does everything special have to come from singed?(and why does every creation of singed run away? XD)

And Takeda isn't the scientist behind Zacs creation,he is the one who was financing the project.

Not to mention, Takeda only makes an appearance in Zac's new Lore and no one else's. What was the point?

Uhm he actually appeared first in Evelynns story.... He is a chembaron in Zaun, meaning he is one of the most powerful and influential people there,so he will likely play a large role in the future.

Why do you phrase this as if that isn't the case in the new lore? I mean as you later say,his relationship with his parents was mostly unchanged(except for them dying in the new lore)

Subtext. They psoted images for a reason. One also kinda looks like Viktor but it doesn't seem like this is his area of expertise. Singed made the most sense, even more given the new Warwick.

And Takeda isn't the scientist behind Zacs creation,he is the one who was financing the project.

I am aware of this.

I was not aware of this.

This

they do try and work his old backstory into the new one

I'm just not a fan of how it played out. The pictures along with the writing painted an amazing story. Similar to what they did with Warwick. Some of the images can still be applied to the new Lore, but it just doesn't feel right.

Case in point:

"Zac is the product of a toxic spill that ran through a chemtech seam and pooled in an isolated cavern deep in Zaun's Sump."

I'm sorry, I thought he was designed.
