Sex change rito?

apexit··3 votes·2,028 views

If Thor can be a she what about Graves? Take the mans cigar away from him for real and give her a bearded baby canon!

For all of us progressives who don´t confine character to sex, how about some skins that swap things around?

Like he-Lux or she-mundo, or go for gold and make a non sex defined character.

IRL about 1% of us don't fall into the he or she category and last i counted lol heroes are way over 100 so reflecting reality, give us a hero that will really taunt those gender binary conformists.

Free up your sex!

I'm perfectly fine with the LGBT community. But making token characters is stupid.

Go make a game with transgender people then? Why try and force your views onto someone else's work?

In real life there are there are no giant space dragons, but we have one in the game, the game is not supposed to reflect reality.

And Bard Bard is genderless.

While making a point, Bard is referred to as "He" in canon Riot lore, so...

People commonly refer to their car as a she. Does this suddenly make their car a girl, vagina and all?

And ships, don't forget ships.

Also planes.

And basically any material object someone's particularly attached to.

Also countries.

Thats mostly because "he" is used for people where the gender is unknown.

After all "it" is only used for objects.

I mean Bastion from Overwatch is also referred to as a he and "he" is a robot who can't even talk,so no one knows if he thinks of himself as male or female(or anything in that regard)

I don't confine characters to sex.

So lets make a post all about the sex of characters.

The problem is that this would require new VOs for the champs,so these skins would need to be at least legendary and they would surely end up very controversial(and tbh aren't even very original),so they likely wouldn't even sell very well.

It would also require new animations. This is why we don't see, for example, a Soraka skin with normal looking feet. They'd have to come up with a new animation set to accommodate the skin, which they might be willing to do in certain cases, but generally isn't worth the effort.

um no some that make sense sure like a seana lucian skin. But for the most part just a dude lux is stupid.

This has got to be a shitpost.

If not, then I'll answer at the very least with an honest response.

In regards to development for champions, Riot spends months and months building upon their identity. How they see the world and react to it is intrinsically important, as Riot has been going full steam on worldbuilding as of late. This idea of identity is crucial to both character and as a whole, the IP of Riot's lore. Suddenly changing that so it'll be friendly to your ideals would be pandering, especially if it was as hardcore as a released character having their sex changed completely. A large part of that character's previous identity would be completely lost if that were to happen.

I'm sure the idea of a character not being defined by sexual / gender traits has been brought up multiple times within the foundations team. It's just a case of how they would go about doing such a thing and defining that character to have a place both lore wise and gameplay wise and finding it workable.

Except that Thor can be anyone of any race and gender, so your example is pointless when it comes to actual characters like Graves.

Marvel & DC comics are very old so their only way to survive is with reboots/changing characters/remaking same stories etc otherwise all their characters would have died of old age, thats why you see a female Thor, but the female Thor is not the same person, its Thor's earth girlfriend (Jane Foster) that took the hammer, the main Thor is still a male so there was not a gender change at all.

But now that the entire Mavel Universe has followed the Anime route with Avengers: Disk Wars they don't really have to reboot their stuff again because the Anime route is overall better and more organized

what about no

Since story is descripted in only one reality while Marvel has countless realities. So It wouldn't make sense to have female Graves, because there are only 1 Graves at the moment, at this reality.

You're just making it ''change the sex!''

It is not like sexuality dude... He is clearly a man while he is not clearly straight or gay. You cannot wish something like that.

If you have said, make his sexuality clear! I would agree. Because there is nothing to change, there is nothing that is clarified. But his sex? Well, he is obviously male.
