In game lore, what happened?

Why has in game lore devolved into a few lines per champ for the new champs, and even some of the old ones? Am I just missing something saying where you can go to get a better version of the lore? If so tell me, because if not I feel that i'm not the only one missing the rich stories that came with each new champ in their lore section.

Long story short they put lore on the website and microsites now, not in the client.
