Creating a more connected loreverse about Runeterra

Just voicing a thougt I had for a while. As long as the game develops, unfolds and gets deeper in mechanics, I noticed that, only for what concerns the lore-verse, tyhe overall quality is tangling more and more.

In depht: most of the stories feel REALLY inadquate, childish from time to time (like the new Ryze). The old fairy tale scheme regarding Protagonist - Antagonist - Magic Object is repeated countless times, with some variations, and is in most of the cases not connected - or, to be more precise - not connected "in a deep way" to the overall story - which is confused per se. There are little pearls scattered here or there, like Kindred story, or the new Shurima saga, but they stay 9 times out of 10 stranded, like a big non sequitur (Kindred for me is the perfect example: a small, wonderfully written piece of art, but not really "plunged" into the league world.

I think the game, moved by the fantasies of the artists designing the characters appearances, designs, phrases, provides a ton of inputs. And i also think that the game needs an adamantine skeleton, connecting all of the pieces together and possibly providing the game's lore with an overall more mature style.

Just for example:

  1. connecting Bard and Aatrox, polarizing them, or their races, like balancers of the world situation
  2. Star Guardians vs Dark Star continuity: who's and why's? How does Aurelion Sol fit in?
  3. Politics: better entwinement between Noxus and Demacia, adding "grey zones" in the actual polarity good/evil. Mashing up with the cities' relations with Piltover and Zaun
  4. The void? What they are, what they want, are they all of a species?

...I could continue forever, and adding references for items, movesets, and so on. RITO HIRE ME [zombie-nunu-hearts]

What do you think about it? Would you like to get a more specific and developed lore for our favorite MOBA?

Uhm how does new Ryzes lore fall into the old fairy tail scheme? Yes Ryze is all about gathering these magical macguffins, but he does it because he doesn't want anyone to use them, not to stop some ancient evil or something. And it shows that there isn't much good vs evil going on when it comes to his lore, considering that Ryze basically dooms an entire village in his color text for what he perceives as the greater good.

And in general I have to disagree with most of your ideas.

  1. connecting Bard and Aatrox, polarizing them, or their races, like balancers of the world situation

You yourself ask for a more mature and less good-vs-evil style, yet you want riot to basically turn Bard and the darkins into the biggest good-vs-evil cliche of them all,by basically making it an angel-vs-demons(or god-vs-devil) thing out of them....

  1. Star Guardians vs Dark Star continuity: who's and why's? How does Aurelion Sol fit in?

You want the main lore expanded, yet you ask them to put resources into skin-lore as well?Riot can't do everything at once and I'd rather have them use their resources to flesh out the main lore. Also it was already clarified that these 2 skinlines aren't connected.

  1. Politics: better entwinement between Noxus and Demacia, adding "grey zones" in the actual polarity good/evil. Mashing up with the cities' relations with Piltover and Zaun

They are already greying out the nations quite a bit. I mean Demacia is depicted as rather xenophob and Fioras family was almost exiled because her father tried to cheat a duel, meanwhile Noxus is actually shown to have no problems with accepting people from other cultures into the ranks of their own and they've made it clear that you don't have to be born rich to make it big in the noxian military. Not to mention that Piltover(who was pretty much the only human state without any moral darkness for quite a bit) now gets Camille,a state assassin, as their next champion.
