Why? Why are you even willing to change Cottontail Teemo's splash art? There isn't any reason to do that, and you did, honestly speaking, an HORRIBLE work. No, I don't care if my message may be offensive or derogatory towards other people's work, because this job, quite frankly, sucks. As someone else said (Coriandr), in the new splash art he seems to have mental problems. This doesn't mean that I am copying what others said, but I just want to stress that I agree with it. In the new splash art, Teemo's face is... ugly, not to mention that it splashes out of the costume for no reason. Also, it seems that the character's body is fused with the costume itself, instead of being worn. No, I don't want to say it is more realistic, but I mean that his body is so badly designed to give this impression. The fur around its eyes, darker in color, one of the Teemo's qualities that I personally like more, in this image appears to be a piece of plastic that reflects light, but this is nothing compared to his eyelashes and eyebrows that give the impression of being of plasticine, in addition to the form of the eyes which is simply unnatural. And I haven't even talked of his cheeks and his chin that, escaping from the costume, give to his head a strange shape. Not counting the mouth that was given a much worse pose and whose lips appear bulging, instead of fluffy as the current image.

Please note that, so far, I have only talked about his face.

His left hand, for some strange reason, is positioned so that he can grasp an object, despite the fact that there isn't an egg in his hand like in the old splash art. The handle of his gun is weird, and his feet, in addition to having those weird pink confetti on them instead of a bit of fur, are very flatter: his left toes are much shorter, to the point that I can't understand how Teemo can walk on them, given the surface. His belly, instead of being covered with pink fur, is drawn as if it were a balloon that is covered with a white outline, the basket containing the eggs seems to float instead of being supported, and the eggs inside, while in the old splash art are more detailed, do not have shades of shadow and light. Also, his carrot is colored in a way that looks like plastic, like his eyes.

In the old splash art, the landscape was much nicer, although this may be a personal opinion, but the fact is that the trees were designed better, and the light was much better. As you can see, in the old image both the top and the front of the head and body of Teemo were enlightened, and the shadow is cast on his left, because the light is coming from the area in the upper right corner (from the perspective of Teemo, which would be top left for those who watch the splash art). In the new splash art, instead, the shadow not only is projected in a worse place, that is the exact area on the Teemo's left instead of behind-left, which is obviously an error since the entire Teemo's face is lightened, except for the cheek that overhangs the costume, (this means that the light can't come from Teemo's exact right, but it is from forward-right) but the top of the head, despite the light is shown to come from above, is not illuminated: the space under his ears is in shadow, as opposed to the edge of the costume around his face. And... why are there a rugby ball and a tennis ball instead of eggs on the ground?

All in all, I think this new splash art is horrible and should NOT be allowed to go live.

I know the artists' mentality has to prepare with people having opposite opinions, but please respect the artworks even though you may think they aren't strong enough.

Onto the Teemo thing, I think it's just temporary thing. I too have thought some of the replacing splash arts I couldn't stand (Sivir ones) but Riot did explain that it's temporary. The reason why they don't keep both version or leave the splash alone goes back again to the point of spending money supporting the pipeline. For Teemo players' sake, let's hope this is not his final form =]]

Another thread with someone who pretends to be super invested in the artwork of the game, but couldn't take 5 minutes to read a post in relation as to why this is happening. I took the time to fish up the post for you.

This is not intended to be an """""upgrade""""" as you put it, this is simply supposed to be part of a unification effort in which champions will eventually have the same (or very similar) splash-arts globally. They have explicitly stated that many of these changes are temporary and they are more than likely going to have new artwork for a ton of skins and champions if they feel it does not meet their standards.
