People are stupid end of sentence. People will infer all kinds of different things based on location or presence or words used etc. When in reality they do not know anything. They take what they want from it, get as many people on board with their theory as possible ( because once enough people believe it and defend said position it must be true. kappa) and create some odd job theory out of it even if the two things have nothing in common.
