Varus and the ruined king
SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO I was just thinking, that the pit in Ionia that varus absorbed all the malevolent energy from could have been created by an ancient king of ionia, who may have been a Darkin. I was thinking that this pit could have been the ruined kings first attempt at corrupting an entire land and turning his kingdom into a place of evil, but his plan was stopped by the people of Ionia and he was driven off the island. finding his new home on the shadow isles that he would later corrupt. When it comes to the Darkin bit, we see a pretty big influence put on the Darkin's weapons, like Aatrox being the Darkin blade and all that jazz. so perhaps the blade of the ruined king follows the same vein of being a darkin weapon, or a weapon corrupted by a Darkin and given to the ruined king and influenced to wipe out his people and create a land akin to the shadows isles. Which would fit in with the Darkins love of conflict and death, as well as the fury they instil in an individual that never dissipates.
is a refference to the mythological character - skeleton King Leoric who is also called the ruined king, in gaming he is a miniboss in diablo 3 and also a hero in dota1/2/ heroes of the storm
