Would you consider taking a look at Emerald Taric? His splash art depicts a gold (or bronze) trim on his pauldrons and breastplate, while ingame it's a shade of green.

Unless this is coy (in which case, don't mean to spoil your joke), He's referring to the fact that the splash for the new Emerald has additional gold/bronze trim on the pauldrons that isn't present in the model. The "leaves" on his pauldrons in the artwork have the trim around them where the model only has the bronze/gold beneath the gems on the pauldrons.

The old splash doesn't really apply to the new Emerald skin though, since the armor theme and primary/accent colors are different.
