The Project Skins

The new project skins were revealed to us recently and it kinda pooped on half of my last post " PSA About the Project Skins, " but I still do think that there are some things wrong with this release.

This is my opinion, and I'm mostly just trying to smooth things over and--possibly, persuade others, and even Riot, to consider a portion of it.

The new components to the skin were Jhin, Vayne, and Vi. The theme was a hunter-oriented style, and I can agree that Vayne definitely fits this theme the most, but Vi and Jhin are a little bit concerning to me, honestly.

First and foremost, though, Vayne's skin was Amazing, you guys did a great job with it, and praise where it's due here.

Now, Jhin is the first weird part about this theme to me. I, and many others along, never really found Jhin as a hunter; Jhin is an artist, whom, " Creates work of artistic brutality, horrifying victims and onlookers. " I think his purpose is more to show the power and talent of his psychopathic perfectionist quality, which isn't really the position that a hunter would give. Some people have said things like ' he hunted for Zed, ' etc etc, however, in the end, having hunted before doesn't make you a hunter. But, let's suppose that Jhin isnt a hunter, then; maybe he's the target; vayne has quotes towards Jhin that personify him as a huge threat, but, if this is the case, why Jhin?

I feel many champions could've fit this character way better, for example, lets say if we had put Quinn into the matter. Projects were an attempt at reviving these fighters from history in the newly formed world that is the universe that they reside in. If they were to corrupt the memory of Quinn, and have the Virus be her bird, wouldn't this have seemed a bit more fitting? The Virus is coded as the Valor that Quinn so dearly remembers, and Valor is the pawn of the creator, it would have probably been much cooler. I don't really see the reason why Jhin had that position over something like this.

But we can't really change the fact that Jhin got the skin, can we? So, let's talk about what Project: Jhin is Now.

My first impression of this skin was forced, but, after time, I developed to like the skin a little bit more and say it's not so forced as it is wrong-place-wrong-time. I was pretty much a bit blinded by the fact that it was his 3rd skin this year, and how there were clearly better candidates than Jhin. His music, his effects, basically, everything visual and sound wise, were perfect.

But man oh man, that model. The coat, how small he looks, I mean, the fact that he tried to look like both Alien and Predator at the same time; the model needs a little looking at. What I did think was cool is what I actually was going to originally complain about-- Most of the project skins have a cold metal color applied with a signature color. Jhin didn't do this, and at first, I was a bit upset, but, the way that he has the Black and Red-ish color outfit stood out to me, and, if it weren't for the really bad green coat (I'm sorry, I just really don't like that coat,) i'd probably have enjoyed that model much more.

That's all I can really give for Jhin. Now my next issue is a bit smaller, and it's Vi

Vi was someone I pretty much knew was gonna get a Project skin. She was the perfect candidate for it herself, but the way it turned out kinda hits me the wrong way. Alike to jhin, she has some unfitting pieces to her model. Again, the project skins have this cold metal color with a signature color, and Vi is just about the farthest thing from that.

I guess she was supposed to be the rogue of the group, judging by her recall, I get the idea that she wants to take Jhin head on, and, do as she always does: sock him in the face. However, I still think that there should be a baseline here. I don't think Vi needed to change clothes or anything, so her armor having this green-brown-akin color scheme makes her barely even look like she was meant for this skin line.

The second issue is definitely her color. She is the third yellow member of the Project theme, which is a bit monotonous, especially when Vi doesn't associate with yellow practically at all. The color pink really is still open, and, to fit with Vi's pink hair, I think Vi should've gotten pink.

Truthfully, that's all there is wrong about Vi, but this makes a really big difference.

As for any other issue with the new project skins, This one is a bit petty, but I really liked how the previous ones had synchronizing recalls, but these new ones don't have them at all. It is a pretty redeeming feature of the project skins, as a lot of skins have the re-occurring specific recalls, i.e. the Mecha skins having transformation into automobiles in their recalls. (Great job on Mecha Rengar by the way! I don't agree with the brown, but you gave us Chromas, so that's cool. )
