Concerning the Genetics of Yordles

So, we all know who Teemo is. We all know about Ziggs, Tristana... the list of adorable little Yordles goes on and on. I do have a small questions for any Reds who would care to answer it, or anyone who thinks they know the answer.

Simply put, my question is: What the hell is up with their genetic variation?

Why are Tristana and Poppy blue? Why are Teemo and Ziggs covered in fur? Why is Rumble both? Why does Corki seem to not have fur, and instead of a mustache? Does it have something to do with gender, or size, or age or what?

I mean, seriously. If we do take Gnar to be a prehistoric version of a Yordle, a 'missing link', if you will, than did all Yordles used to look like that? Or was Gnar just a genetic accident? If they did all look like his Rage form, did they become cute and cuddly so that other species didn't hunt them via domestication, like dogs did, and, if so, how long did that take?

Seriously, Riot. We need to know about Yordle evolution. It's really important.

(Not that I'm planning to use the information to create a bio-weapon to kill Teemo or anything. I'm just saying... we need to know for, um... reasons. Don't question it.)

All male Yordles are furry like Ziggs, Rumble, Teemo and all female Yordles are supposed to look similar to Lulu. The colors don't really matter. Corki is outdated because at the start there were 2 races Yordles (Teemo)) and Meglings (Corki Trist...) but Riot decided to make them all Yordles. They intend to update Yordles like Corki, Trist and Poppy to bring them more in line with Ziggs (for males) and Lulu (for females).

Until Ziggs rolled around, Yordles had no artistic identity other than being small and having big heads. Riot is slowly fixing this. Their stated direction is to move males towards Ziggs, and females towards Lulu.

Gnar was the standard Yordle. Mega-Gnar is the genetic fluke.

In the case of Corki, just imagine that he's lost hair due to age or from some sort of freak plane accident that burned a lot of his skin and fur.

All the blue yordles were a separate race of yordle at one point in time. They were called the meglings or something like that. Although, for some crazy reason, Riot just killed them off. So now the blue yordles are just classified as regular yordles. That should answer your question.

Lore time! Males are furrier and females are blue, that's how it is. Corki's old, they're presently trying to make yordles more similar looking if you look through the red posts from months ago. I think when they were VU'ing Heimer they said it, maybe a bit after.

For an answer to the still unsolved question regarding the different looks of various Yordles, just google "Great Yordle Unification Pass".

Males have fur and Females have skin and hair, also, it seems that Riot will update the females and put furry-like ears to them.

By the way, there are a lot of different color of yordles: the most common for females is blue with white hair, the most common for males is brown... but in the JoJ you can see a female yordle with green hair and Veigar is confirmed to be a male yordle with black fur.

PS: Corki is outdated and needs a VU.

I think Yordles are like dogs. They're all the same species but have incredibly varied breeds. It'd also help explain how Gnar seems rather distant, it's just that Yordles evolved and adapted very quickly.

is heimerdinger a yordle?

Does this mean Veiger is actually furry?

What would happen if Gnar mated with a current gen Yordle? Would it be born with a tail? I assume having a tail is dominate. It would create another subspecies. Also if he mated, would the offspring have the full transformation, a Half transformation, or no transformation at all?

I was just about to ask a similar question! I was also wondering about why Teemo can be invisible while other yordle's can't ( I don't know about Evelyn though)... I guess it might be some kind of rare recessive gene. Perhaps Yordle's are kind of like hobbits and in each different environment, they have certain physical adaptations (or go through natural selection) that allow them to survive and to pass down certain successful genes. But yeah, nice question, I was wondering too.

Color variance is as simple as the difference between human skin pigmentation. hair is also the same with humans (some people have tons of chest hair, some have none at all; some have trouble growing an awesome stache, others grow full beards within the hour) Neanderthals are thought to be much much stronger than us modern humans physically. gnar's rage mode is basically the physically superior thing. Also the size change can work similar to puffer fish, yordles can evolve in such a way that growing physically bigger is no longer necessary and becoming big is a vestigial function. and thus this function is bred out since becoming big randomly is a sexually unappealing trait (imagine having sex with the hulk...) Yordles are very simple creatures.

So is Amumu going to have yordle ears at one point in a future update, and people often seem to forget to mention Kennen as well, jus sayin.
