New Champion lore lacking

EDIT: So now I know that the longer lore's are on the site instead of the client, this thread is basically obsolete.

Okay, so here I am on the boards since I figured out I can't even post in the forums because of a specific level system or whatever,

but am I the only one who's noticing the newer champions' lore's are just straight boring and explain little to nothing about the champ? as if they completely forgot that League of Legends has it's own regions and it's own expanding world on Runeterra?

Braum and Gnar were the last ones with any type of origin story, after that it just seems like over the months they've completely gotten rid of their story writing team. It seems like they're just trying to make new champs for the sake of the game play mechanics, which is fine in a game that DOESN'T have it's own world and backstories, races, regions, etc. Not League of Legends, which does.

They're so vague now that you'd be just as knowledgeable about the Champ if you didn't read the lore at all. There's no connections with the Champs that you play as anymore, nothing to make them interesting and in that regard I feel like League of Legends is losing its colors.

Before when new champions released we had PARAGRAPHS to read and discover where they came from to make who they are in the League and who they were connected with[IE Demacia, Noxus, etc], but now you're lucky if you even get over 3 sentences.

Seems to me like they're just releasing champs that are gods or immortal so they can just say "They made it all lel they're immortal there is no lore" like the new Aurelion Sol which is the creator of universes or Kindred who is literally death. Where did they come from? How did they get the powers that they have?

Also I think that it's ironic that champion skins are getting more of a story than the new champions themselves with the PROJECT skins, trying to make a story with the skins that are technically non-canon because they're skins on champs that have already existed and have their own lore.

To me, it's just lazy.

The new champs do not have their full Lores in the client. That was changed.

You can find the full, non 3 sentence lores for Jhin, Aurelion Sol, etc., on their Champion Pages on the website.

http://gameinfo.na.leagueoflegends.com/en/game-info/champions/aurelionsol/

Also, some newer champs (Rek'sai, Kindred) received mini-websites instead. They're hard to find now, but they are out there. Ekko has a comic as well, off the top of my head.

EDIT: The currently ongoing Mt. Targon "event" sorta thing has its own lore stuff that's only on that mini-site right now, which is here: http://na.leagueoflegends.com/en/site/mount-targon/

Honestly, I think it'd be a great idea to have a Lore tab in the client that links to these or at least a stickied forum topic.

Why though when every other older champion still does?

Are they trying to do what Destiny is doing? In order for you to know the lore you have to go to their site to figure it out?

If so that's really disappointing. Like 'put me off from ever trying to care about their story afterwards" disappointing

I play a game to figure out the lore when I'm in the game, you connect to the characters that way because you're immersed into the gameplay and you relate to it in a weird way.

If I have to go to an external site to figure it out, I no longer care about it because I'm not immersed in the world anymore. It's just on a site made by the developers of the game that I play now.

It's due to technical issues with the client that is currently in use. Which is one of the many reasons a new client is currently in development.

Well its not like you can actually read the lore ingame anyway.

Where is the big difference in reading the lore in the client and reading it on the website?(though they really need to make it more accessible, you are not the first one who didn't know that larger lores exist on the website)

At least a link saying "Click here to read more" would be nice, if anything.

I don't usually go out of my way to figure out what the lore's of champs are, so when I am curious and I only see a few sentences I'm just like "Oh, well that's underwhelming" and just start playing again.

League of Legends isn't exactly a game about immersing yourself into the world over playing 5v5 Tower Defense, but if they're going to make stories about the champions they can at least try to implement it into the actual game client itself.

Like for Ekko a comics tab or even in his lore have the comics there so you can understand it rather than it just being another champion with different abilities than other champions.

I feel like that's why people don't understand LoL that well and question why others play it, because to them all it is is Tower Defense and the story is almost swept under the rug unless you went digging for it

Honestly I agree that Riot has been terrible at making the Lore for recent champs easy to find. Hell, most of the time I only know stuff was added because Sharjo makes notifications on this board (thanks bro btw). I would like to believe that once the new Client comes around, Lore will be organized and more easily accessible.

Please note however that there ARE long stories for nearly every champion after Gnar. -Azir got tones during the Shurima event (along with Xerath, Renekton, Nasus, Cassiopeia and Sivir) -Kalista along with every Shadow Isles Champ (minus Elise) got long bios + stories last October -Rek'Sai got The Terror Beneath and a small journal thing (Long Bio is in the works) -Bard got his teaser along with Bard: Mountain (Long Bio is in the works) -Ekko got Seconds and Chronobreak (a comic) (Long Bio confirmed to be coming out within a few weeks) -Tahm didn't get much other than his teaser (Long Bio in the works) -Kindred has a long bio and Magga's Story -Illaoi has a bunch between Shadows and Fortune and her bio and story with Gangplank -Jhin just recently got his Bio + story -Aurelion got his Bio + story

In this whole period we've also gotten stuff for Fiora, Ahri, Shen, Twisted Fate, Graves, Miss Fortune, Olaf (the psycho), Akali, the backstory of the entire Shadow Isles and a few others I can't remember.

Stuff's been happening man.

Here's Sharjo's Lore Megacollection of about everything added in 2015 http://boards.na.leagueoflegends.com/en/c/story-art/UzrAym3Y-what-we-learned-this-year-tldr-lore-2015

Happy Reading.

I was hoping we'd explore these lores more in special events. They did really good with the Gangplank vs MissFortune one. I want to explore Corki . Tell us the story about his younger days in with the Screaming Yipsnakes. How about Ezreal 's adventures within the most dangerous places he's ever explored without a map. Maybe give Annie a shot so we can know more about her parents and why the hell they would let a child go into the battlefield. I get she has powers but come on, at a young age like that?
