The Degradation of the Lore

While the recent concepts and story presentations surrounding Bilgewater and characters such as Sion are great, I really do not like the way that riot has managed the Lore of our beloved characters. When referring to the lore section of character pages, the backgrounds of many characters recently have been reduced to nothing more than a few sentences. With the introduction of Azir riot took it upon themselves to rewrite the lore pages of many characters such as Ezreal and Amumu, and while I would welcome a rewrite it truly looks like most of these champions now have a lore page thrown together in five minutes by an intern. I get that this game is not a story game, but why in gods name would you bastardize your own concepts like this? I see this now in Gangplanks lore description as well. I was a player that read the lore of every champion when I started playing this game, and I actually enjoy projecting some of the ideals of a character into my play as I experience the game. I really, strongly, disagree with Riot's approach to the story at this point. Why must a champion's background by shorter than 4 sentences? I really think that this is just wrong. Is it truly so much trouble to have a true background for a character? So much so that you must rewrite every single one that goes on for more than a paragraph to be as short as a tweet? Riot please, take more pride in your characters!

Gangplank's isn't short anymore they have since updated it. Then there is also his whole role in the Bilgwater event.

Jareden has said that all these stories have been written months in advance, but they had issues getting them out there. Have you seen Xereth and Azir's pages? Their longer stories were added a while back.

They plan to do more when the Bilgwater has run its course.
