So... according to the lore, 
was a veteran star guardian leader of previous teams, but yet 
was the first to get her star guardian skin in the game? What's up with that? However, I am completely shocked that 
was actually chosen to be a Star Guardian, how'd that idea happen? Lorewise, I agree with lux on not trusting Jinx as a new guardian, she's too crazy to be a "protecter" lol
Lux is the main protagonist and heart of the group so it's easy to see why she got a skin first. Janna was part of an old team, but considering her role now is to support and give mentorship, she probably was unable to form a new team on her own and had to wait for Lux to start a new generation. Jinx is the fightloving and rebellous rival of Lux, which is a character you often see in those shows (rushes first into battle / doesn't work in the team)
"Can you believe they chose me to be a Guardian?"
She's mocking the fact that she's one too. Anyways, it's a contract one signs to actually become one.
