... then i think riot should realise they're making a mistake instead of answering with cryptic philosophical messeges (just read the riot reactions on them).

Riot, you killed a character with a lore which was loved by a HUGE part of your playerbase, you simply decided to change his core (vengeance is no longer all he has, he didn't really lose his family to noxians, rip the gay boyfriend tho), altho tbf i'm lying here as varus is no longer varus, the darkin is varus so well... RIP real varus?

I really hope riot will realise this was a mistake and retract the change, or never do something like this again.

By the way, i am not even a huge lover of varus although his lore was intrigueing, but stuff like this makes me fear that the champions i love will be destroyed someday as well.

Boards are just a really small part of the entire community and they didn't receive feedback that was all negative. It got stated that reddit sees the changes way less negative than the boards here and they actually got alot of positive feedback in twitter.

Personally, I like the changes they made for him. I think they are beneficial for Varus as a character in the future.

Nah. They just stirred up the homophobes is all. Tons of people playing Varus today in every game I've played today makes me think the community is just too busy loving him to bother reading the boards. I like him a lot more now - Varus himself, not the gay couple in his head necessarily, they seemed fairly pedestrian by themselves, which was probably intentional.

The thing is that there isn't just dislike for the new lore. I've also seen a lot of people who are happy with the new lore and think it is better and a lot who think that both lores have their pros and cons.
