What do YOU want from a Cho'gath update?

I'm just curious as to what everyone wants from a Cho update. From visual to skills, everything. I want to know what skills you think need to stay, what needs to go, what you think he could do instead. It would be a bonus if you could share drawings/pictures of what you want him to look like. Cho does not need a rework. I like him how he is, maybe a new in-game appearance but that's all.

Cho'Gath has proven time and time again to have a kit that really works for what it is meant to do. He's a crazy anti-caster with amazing zone potential due to threat of incredible burst damage. He's always really strong whenever burst casters are really strong, which means that his niche is very well fulfilled. If anything I just want a VU to make him look more bulky instead of spindly and more kaiju-esque.

I think his kit is pretty decent as is. Although early game it sucks using one Q and watching half your mana bar disappearitem 3070 Chogath item 3070

I think his E should be changed to a rout or a blind or it should deal more damage because his E deals no damage

VU.

A VU to match his menacing new splash would be awesome... In regards to kit, I've always felt Cho'Gaths kit was kind of old and awkward looking. The instant true damage ult seems a little cheesy, but I guess it fits him thematically (eating his prey). I think the best thing Riot can do is give him new (realistic looking) animations and particle effects for his current kit. His Rupture is the one ability that I would change. I think circle-based skill shots feel too "gamey" and not quite realistic or engaging enough for my tastes. Something like Yasuo's Steel Tempest, Braum's Glacial Fissure, or Gnar's Wallop would add a more interesting game dynamic than yet another circle skill shot.

He is like anivia.

Mana cost updates and new particles are all he needs.

I really, really like Cho's kit in general, though I'd like if he was encouraged to be in close-range combat more often that currently.

Visually is where Cho needs the most love. He feels just a little too spindly right now, and he just kinda increases in size with stacks. I'd love to see his model evolve with his Feast stacks, like IronStylus suggested. He starts off small but disturbing, but eventually turns into an absolutely horrifying Lovecraftian kaiju that absolutely NO ONE wants to run into.

Also, his Q really needs to tie into his biology. I love Battlecast Cho's Q, because it makes sense. Just stomping the ground and making spikes pop up... not so much. I'd also like to see his tail used for something.

Dunno if his skills need to be reworked that much,I think some rebalancing is all he needs.

Storywise I would like it if they keep him more intelligent and make him even malevolent(he really seems to be the only really evil voidbeing, with the others it looks more like they simply act on instinct)

Modelwise,he should look more monstrous(I think the new splash art is pretty good at that) and he really needs a bigger standard model(or his first form must look like some kind of early stage of his evolution)

Cho'Gath was my first champion, and while his kit is "ok" as is, i feel like there is some room for improvement or just change to his kit in general. ill list out a few things that i feel that could be usefull in his kit. (none of these concepts are made to work with each other, just random ideas)

  1. a GAPCLOSER, seriously, everyone and their uncle has a gapcloser(or movespeed buff) or something: i just... i donno... maybe make his q a burrow ability that has him travel to the targeted area that ends with a knockup. but his original q range is massive. hmmm, it would be the a bit op, like tristana's jump (he can literally just leave the lane.no idea where he goes.)

  2. maybe more power behind his ult, scales his abilities power or form as he grows. larger q radius or larger shout radius.

  3. i feel like his scream in general needs love, maybe a range aspect at stacks 3, a fear aspect at level 6.

Gholem12/22/2014, 3:36:25 PM1 votes

His kit is good overall, but I think he might need some escape/gap closer since he needs to maintain his stack...

I mean, it's so much loss after Cho dies...half the stacks just goes away like that...

I'm not asking for huge buff, but something which Cho can just make escape about rather than getting close to an enemy and kill him.

Even though I don't think just normal gap closer can be given to Cho just like that...maybe a flash-like skill which can only be used with health lower than 25%

If not, I just think visual upgrade would just be fine...right now, I'm quite surprised at how Cho managed to look good till now, but his e...c'mon, that looks pretty bad and his q just don't make any sense: where do the spikes come from?

Darth Pixy Misa10/28/2014, 7:40:25 PM1 votes

I think it is more fair than Nasus and Veigar, they have infinite stacks and they dont lose them when they die. Another aspect of balance to this is that Vayne, Garen and a few others have skills that do percent hp damage, BOTRK does %hp damage too.

Frankly a team should be punished if they let a cho get 20 stacks and about 6000hp.

Just visual? Or total update?

For just visual, A Q THAT IS VISUALLY LOGICAL. Try to give him something more convincing than stomping to create spikes far away.

Total update.....make him less of a mage and more of a get into your face and wreck shit champion. Theoretically he still does that now, but he has one too many long ranged nuke and not enough of biting the opponents face like his R. And he only starts being that a little later than it should.

He has a massive prominent tail and he doesnt use it!

Kingsgrave10/28/2014, 10:23:41 PM1 votes

I want his passive to be buffed and his vorpal spikes to be reworked into something flashier and everything else is okay

Nubeel12/22/2014, 3:43:17 PM1 votes

I'd like him to start of larger and in general have bulkier limbs. At level one my opponent simply doesn't see me as a terrifying horror that will eat his team. I'm just a void lizard that knocks him up every now and then.

Cho's hitboxes really need to be clarified. They're just really wonky right now. VU would be sufficient I think, save for his ult, which should stack even if it doesn't deal the killing blow.

TerraRising10/27/2014, 6:48:06 PM1 votes

I would like to see Cho'Gath's reworked lore to really emphasize the "Returning mega menace" that's implied in his kit. A monster that grows the more he eats until he becomes so big that it takes a united front from Valoran to completely stop him. Only Cho'gath respawns back to Icathia to begin his frenzy all over again.

Not to the ridiculous levels of Sin from Final Fantasy X, but something akin to Valoran's version of Godzilla.

Darth Pixy Misa10/27/2014, 7:36:50 PM1 votes

Ms is all that Cho needs. Giving feast a cap of 20 and a 1/3 stack loss at death would be nice tho.

Toa of Death10/27/2014, 7:56:02 PM1 votes

Maybe have his Q cost a little less mana. Increase his stacks to 20 or so. Make his Q logical, right now he stomps his foot and spikes appear. where did the spikes come from? That's what they did right on BCP Cho, giving all his abilities anatomy.
