My Tribute to Shen

I have been playing league since 2013 and Shen was the 2nd champ I got and has been my main since. I always liked the theme of Shen and even more so with the update. Not tempted by evil nor emboldened by good. Just acts on whatever justifies his neutral code and upholds the balance. Besides his kit and swords being akin to the Witcher, they both have similarities in character as well, with Geralt being just a man who acts only to keep his loved ones safe and follow contracts orderly. Despite how apathetic he may seem, I always felt that Shen's longing to be free from emotion to enact truly unbiased judgement is admirable, relate-able and mournful. Especially due to all the stuff he went through. Losing both father and brother on the same day and being betrayed by said brother only to almost lose the entire order Shen has been raised in and worked his butt off for. The only memento he has from his father is his spirit blade and he must use it day in and day out to keep harmful spirits and demons from coming to Runeterra and upset the balance.

I would imagine personality wise that He would be the Strong silent type (which I love and try to be) while still holding a strong presence as the leader of the Kinkou. It would be cool to see a Grand master Shen skin but that is something else. He is also probably the only Ionian mortal to Ihave legends about him. Legends! Even one with him saving Noxus of all cities from a spirit world invasion! Don't tell me that doesn't scream badass.

I don't mind if people don't say anything but I felt as if I should say something for the OG ninja of league and how I love that he is getting a lot of attention by the pros. I made an immature post about the teaser earlier but I do hope that Shen does get a skin in the near future as tribute to all the love he has been getting recently.

Speaking of Witcher, Do you think Akali is Shen's Yennifer? Triss? From the way I read Jhin's lore, She may actually be his Ciri (mentor role) XD.

I see her as his student, rather than his love interest, mostly seen in his interactions with her. Rebuke, advice, etc.

Nice tribute! I always thought he was similar to Geralt as well, especially after reading his lore and Jhin's. Also, i see Akali as being more of his student or pupil :D

This post is what I needed to lift me up today because of happy Shen thoughts.

To answer some of the statements posed:

-Shen is not a very well-known person, and he is only known through various stories. He is also very elusive when it comes to people and likely doesn't chat much, so unlike Braum he may not get a lot of folk stories about him and his feats. The man is an enigma to the average person.

-Shen is definitely a strong and silent type, and he chooses his words wisely because of the image he upholds and the ideals he represents. He isn't self-imposed mute like the overexaggerated silent archetype, but his words have value because of how little he does speak. However, he is punctual and makes sure to be polite. We see all this in the story where he interacts with the priest.

-I admire your ability to see such a great character for who they are; you have a good eye there. Shen is most definitely a wonderful, beautifully written and sculpted character who feels like an actual person. He feels human, and even being a spiritual guardian he feels relatable to a deep level. He also has a unique and amazing kit that has, since I have been playing, never been broken or overpowered because it rewards a skilled player on both ends; a good Shen will triumph gloriously and feel good about it, while a good opponent will feel good about outplaying and outsmarting Shen. Mix two good players and you get a fun experience.

-Shen should definitely get at least a legendary-tier skin. My theory is that Riot is having trouble with choosing either the concept or the voice actor, and that's why it has taken so long. I believe the wait will be worth it since they had this much time to work on it.

-Akali is most definitely a pupil to Shen. He does things like advise, warn, and scold her, much like a master would a student. Shen is honorable and would never see somebody as young as Akali, who looks up to him, as a potential love interest. Kuho didn't raise him to be that kind of man.

Sorry for the wall of text, but I am way too passionate about Shen and your post inspired me greatly. If I had been using my computer and not my phone, who knows how long this would be, haha.
