Or (More likely) a race who had lived along them (probvably as pets).

We know really few things about these cheerful, crazy and capable shorties and the retcon has also shaded some of the informations we have but lets list some facts:

  • They are fairly older than humans as a race and their lifespan far outweights the humans'.
  • They are among the only who have space-like technology.
  • They have connections with some spiritual realms (they might actually be spirits themselves).
  • Poppy in particular is hinted to know about Targonian Gems (To be taken really careful).

Now, I didn't take much time exploring the lore, the interactions and the connections of all the Yordles. Yet I wanted to expose this crazy theory and see how you guys find it.

(Any more skilled Theoryst is welcome if he wants to explore it more :3).

I'm more inclined to believe that if any race lived alongside the Targonians, it was the darkin, not the yordles. Given how yordles only started developing in to any kind of culture and society around the time the Frozen Watcher's held dominion over the Freljord, which was during a time period where humans were the dominant species on Runeterra, I feel it's much more likely that yordles were in a state similar to Gnar's mega form when the Targonians were around on Runeterra.

Given the fact we know so little about how yordles work in the new canon, especially when considering Bandle City as a whole, it's difficult to speculate, but my thoughts are either that the yordle space faring technology (the mothership) is either not going to be a thing anymore or be a symbol of yordle ingenuity and their potential as a people, where they look at the mother ship and remember that yordle were able to do that, and as such can really make anything happen.

Nah I feel there's not much connecting Targonians to yordles, especially considering that, right now, the timeline of events doesn't really favour this theory given how Gnar lived in the ancient past. No I'd reckon that the physical similarities between the golden skinned boy from the Targonians and Aatrox is something that could help shed some insight on how the Targonians worked in the ancient past, but that's just me.

I do feel that at least one yordle has a conection with the Targonians in the new lore, and that yordle is the master of Evil.

Veigar

He has traveled across the land in order to learn about dark magics. One of those dark magics that he learned are the ones of the cosmos, corruption of the cosmic energy to be exact.

The cosmic energy is used by cosmic beings, such as Soraka, Bard and Aurelion Sol... but who taught Veigar about the cosmic energy?

Well, as far as we know, there are only 2 civilizations in Runeterra that have used the cosmic powers: Shurima with the Sun Disk and Targon.

Considering that the magic of the Sun Disk was only available for "important" people and its only focused arround the Sun, and not black holes or other cosmic things, i doubt that Veigar learned about the cosmic magic in Shurima

So... i guess that he learned about the cosmic energy in Targon... Maybe he learned from the Targonians since he is super old... or maybe he is an aspect of evil black holes and no one knows.

How would Gnar fit into this? He's pre-historic, so unless the Targonians existed since THAT long...
