Lack of zed skins

Currently in league we only have two zed skins, he is a well used character, relatively old, and is loved by the community. so how come only two skins?

He has 3.... SKT (Legacy), Shockblade and PROJECT.

Esport skins dont count towards when a champion is in line for a skin.

The two skins, Shock blade and PROJECT, are both pretty high grade skins. They are both very good and fairly expensive. I think the main reason they don't make more is that they want to make zed skins even better, or at least on par, to the last one. They have to try and think of a good theme that they can work with and then, the hardest part, create it.

I like to believe they have two art masterminds sitting in a dark room at the back of Riot HQ working on the next Ultimate Zed Skin.

How unlikely this is doesn't really phase me, but it still keeps my hope up. Riot have talked many times about how they try to focus on the game as much as they can rather than on the lights and whistles.

I really do want another awesome Zed skin, don't get me wrong, but just keep in mind that the good folks in Riot always have a project to work on and they want to try their best on that, leaving nothing half done

Well there is the assassin-update coming soon,so he might be unable to get a skin until then(though I believe it is rather unlikely for him to get a big rework,so he isn't chanceless)

Class updates don't really change animations and models enough to slow down skins though. Right?

Actually they do. Thats why Malzahar,Cassiopeia and so on were unable to get skins for quite some time.

Vel'koz was only able to get his definetly not-skin because it didn't have new spell effects and they knew his update was going to be really small.

However this only applies to the bigger reworks(malzahar,Zyra,Cassio,vel'koz,Brand and vladimir for the mage update) and not for the smaller ones and I think that Zed has a pretty good chance of being in the small-rework group.

To be fair Zed has some pretty damn good skins already which should keep us satisfied until the assassin update.

Hes not really loved by the community. Plus there are champions like Zyra, Swain, etc. who haven't had skins for like 3, or for Swain 4, years. Zed just got project.

Well those 2 are hardly a comparison. Swain is unable to get a skin because he is on the rework list and Zyra is one of the most difficult champs to make a skin for.

I guess lol. But there are alot of champions who need skins much sooner then Zed. That was mainly my point but I used bad examples.

Void Zyra, Arcade Zyra, Anemone Zyra, Spiderlily Zyra.

Not hard at all, really. In fact, an ultimate Zyra skin in which she goes through all four seasons and alters SR accordingly would be nice.

Its not that it is hard to think of a skin for Zyra,its that her skins require more work than other skins,because Zyra has more models in her kit than anyone else(she has ones for Q,W,E,R and her 2 kinds of plants).The only champion that seems to require more work for a good skin than her seems to be Zac.

And Zyra was uneligible for a skin until the mage-update anyway.
