Kai Sa Splash art Critique
So Kai Sa's new splash art just came out and it looks great. However, It has some issues(in my opinion) that I "fixed." A little disclaimer, I'm not the best artist and I know this is a great piece of work, the rendering is amazing, that being said I have my critiques for it. :)
It is clear that Riot likes to exaggerate the proportions, but there is a limit to the aesthetic. I noticed a lot of issues with the anatomy and perspective. Firstly, the neck and torso are too long. The neck is so long moving her head far from her right shoulder and even creating a second slight unnatural bend. And as so for the torso, the rib cage is short and the abdomen is extremely long which extends to the hips that are awkwardly positioned in conjunction with the pose and perspective. Then the perspective issue; Her arm which extends towards the camera in the lower left corner is too small along with the leg facing us. Their current size pushes them back which is the opposite of what she is doing, making her pose inconsistent with the perspective. The leg should also cover more of her and be seen higher in regards to the horizon because we are looking up at it.
The Image above is my quick edit done in photoshop with the transform tool and liquify. I doubt this is perfect but I think it ended up being a more balanced piece.
I would like to see what yall think, hopefully, riot will address this as they usually do before releasing content to live servers.
art and the never released
statue.
There are more to it, but those two are the most noticeable.
