Yo.

So im super excited about the upcoming champion Taliyah, I think its cool that we finally have a gemancer ( malphite is just a geo...)

However, why could the person responsible for her aesthetics not restrain themselves from giving her almost the exact same haircut as Toph Beifong from Avatar? I mean, why can't she have a quote or skin that would be a reference to this similar character. Just becasuse she also is a sort of earthbender doesn't mean she have to look so alike.

It feels lazy.

Its called "COPYRIGHT INFRINGEMENT" , Whenever Riot tries to create a champion, they make sure its unique and different from other characters outside the studio, you don't want riot getting sued because they copied someone else ideas.

i think that was their intent. its not lazy, its just a shout out to the show basically.

I don't think it looks that similar, actually. Toph has long bangs (to the bottom of her nose) and the back of her hair is completely bound into a neat updo. Taliyah has in general shorter hair, and wears it pinned back by some sort of hairpin in the front; that's the only similarity I can see.
