Bear Claw Summoner Icon

I've used the same icon since I've started playing before season 1. I log on today and it's changed. I'm pretty sad, the icon gave me a sense of some individuality and identity, standing out among everyone else who had all the "new fancy icons". Now I have a new fancy icon. Aesthetically, there was nothing wrong with the previous icon. It was simple, and I liked that. And I've never changed it for years. Now I'm forced to. :'( I'm sure I'm the minority on this topic, but I just wanted to submit this art feedback because I am pretty upset by it.

I've been playing for quite some time as well (probably around 3+ years), and I've always used the double leaf icon. It was adorable, had chubby leaves coming out of each side, and was crisp. There was no "clutter" as there is with the newer icons, which is why I'm not fond of them. The classic leaf was simple and easily identifiable.

Now I'm stuck with the skinny three leaf variant with tons of light/bloom. So trust me OP, you're not alone in this. It would be very easy to have both icons, even if they're "legacy" icons, so here's to hoping that Riot doesn't ignore this and hears us out.

Really, that old leaf icon was so damn cute. I feel like I don't have a proper summoner icon to represent me anymore. :|

PS: I know that the old leaf icon had 3 leaves technically, but the third tiny leaf is far more pronounced in the newer version. That and the bigger leaves are considerably smaller/thinner.

I understand why Riot would want to update the icons, but simply adding a newer version while leaving the old ones would have been the better solution in my opinion. I do like the style of the new ones, but I'll still miss the classic icons. They had a certain charm the newer ones don't have.

I agree, OP. While i have switched icons occasionally to show off perfect ascension or what not, my mainstay has always been the Lemur Claw icon. I don' t know what i'm going to do now :(

I too was unpleasantly surprised by the change to my beloved claw. I picked this icon when I started playing because it was crisp and simple, perfect for a representative symbol. The new one just kind of blends into itself and is too convoluted in my opinion. The sudden change has me very disturbed.

It's been like 2 hours and I miss my bear claw already. My friend offered me a spot in the Evil Wraith Claw gang, but what kind of life is that?

This is a respectful request to bring back the original claw. I don't know what I'll do without it.

The sprout was my go to icon for the last five years and I too am sad that it is gone. It doesn't really cost anything to keep these icons in, so having both would really make me happy.

Personally I love the updates to all the art. It brings up the quality in the game for all aspects.

For whatever reason instead of keeping the old ones they reworked they decided to just keep the new ones. I don't understand it myself since they take literally no server space.

Thank you for your support! I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks this. Call us hipsters but when you use something for so long and it's taken away, it's heat breaking! Mr. Riot please bring back our icons

Well don't get attached to the other old unchanged icons, as they'll probably update those soon as well. I like both versions of the icons, so yeah.. maybe they can have both of the icons put in. When I first joined league, the bear claw icon was the icon I chose ;w;

I think it's a funny response to old content being improved. Of course it's a totally legit thing to feel, It's just weird what kind of things people get attached to if you think about it.

I don't think this is the kind of feedback the hard working artists will or should act on, but it's good that you guys share your thoughts. Its important to keep the spirit of the old content somewhat intact.

I agree completely. Riot should just stop producing high-quality content completely. It's awful that we have to go and replace one image file ourselves to get the old and outdated icons in the client. Simply detestable.
