Gangplank being disabled for lore is not okay

Gangplank's been my favorite champion for a long time, and I've always enjoyed playing as him even when I got flamed for picking him. He's been my go to champion when I want to have fun, and ever since the BMB mode was announced, I was looking forward to trying some of the items on him and generally messing about and having fun. Imagine my surprise when I found out he's disabled because he's "dead."

Okay look, I trusted you Riot, when you told me that lore and gameplay were being separated. I wasn't too attached to the idea of summoner's or anything, but I thought why not and went along with it. I was okay with having my game separated from my story. So we go through a bunch of events and now we finally get to the one I've been looking forward to for a long time: The Bilgewater event. Up until now, I liked everything about it. I liked the story, the music, the gp announcer, and the sub quests. It was all pretty neat, and none of it had any effect on gameplay. There was no in game bonus for completing objectives, or a penalty for failing to reach them. There never has been really, aside from rengar vs kha quest. I was completely fine with this. The base game should remain the same, but with new lore to make the champions feel like real people. So why, after all this time, is it suddenly okay to have lore impact the game now? And why on Earth would it be through disabling an entire champion?

I'm going to be honest. I don't really play ranked because I play this game to play my favorite champions with my friends and have fun. My favorite champion by a massive margin is gangplank. I currently barely have any motivation to play league right now because I wanted to continue testing out builds, and to play him in the new game mode. There is no reason he should be disabled. Whatever dramatic effect that the lore team is trying to create, could easily be done without cutting out my favorite character from the game. I don't care how temporary it is. This may be funny or cute to people who don't play a lot of gangplank, but as someone who deeply enjoyed playing as him, I'm very upset. I know I'm probably more upset than I should be about this, but I truly believe that this was a terrible idea and is downright insulting to anybody who wanted to play as gangplank.

I hope that a champion is never disabled for a non gameplay reason ever again, because it just feels so unfair to have my enjoyment ripped out of my hands for the sake of storytelling. And if anybody from the lore team reads this, please reconsider doing this ever again, and re enable him as quickly as you can. If you are going to expressly separate gameplay from lore, then do that. If you aren't, please for the love of God do not do it this way.

For what it counts I'd have banned him in BMB anyhow so yeah....at any rate I enjoy a lot of the champions I play, but if they were singularly disabled for an event I don't personally have an issue with it. I can always play someone different for a little bit. I know it's inconvenient but so are nerfs, buffs, new items, etc.

However, he shouldn't have disabled in rank since it is a competitive environment to the point where people make livings out of it.

While GP being dead is canon there is actually a bug between draven and GangPlank regarding Barrels from Gangplank E giving draven free Q reset stack I believe is the bug. I am not certain but this is what I have heard... but the timing for it to be canon is impeccable.

I, for one, am demanding compensation for having a champion I paid for be randomly deleted like this. I am not happy with Riot.
