“Too Much Disney”

I really just don’t understand this problem. It makes as much sense as the “this champion doesn’t fit into this skin line” argument. I can only recall two champions that are so light-hearted they look like they could belong in a Disney or Pixar movie. And how many champions are there compared to those two, about 140? I’m just so confused with how you can be mad, like lashing out at people, because there isn’t another serious champion being added to the game. Not every champion needs to appeal to your wants or needs. That’s why there’s so many different archetypes, races, and personalities in these champions. It’s not like Riot were releasing these childish characters back to back with nothing in between. We just had a plethora of grown characters. Aatrox is suicidal, and Pyke is homocidal. Seems pretty mature to me. Let the kids that play the game have some champions to connect with just like everyone else. [sg-janna]

This has always been a weird argument to me because, like...do people think Disney...invented children? Or whimsy?

I sorta get it with Zoe, her reveal trailer had a very Pixar-esque vibe, but Nunu's new design doesn't really look like anything I can recall from a Disney movie. If anything it sorta gives me Kubo and the Two Strings vibes, but even then, the idea of "young protagonist goes on adventure with wacky companion, learns about life" is older than Walt Disney's grandparents.

We're talking, like, Sumerians.

You don't even have to be a kid. I'm sure there are plenty of older folks who can enjoy fun, lighthearted & "Disney"-esque things.

Last time I checked you had to be 13 and over to play this game unless something changed in the meantime

I like Nunu. I like Ivern. Both of them are fun and lighthearted without being sociopathic

Zoe, on the other hand...

I play Enchanters/Wardens and Midlaners with "support" tendencies, so I'm excited for Nunu & Willump's update. I may actually try Jungle at some point now. I really enjoy characters like Aatrox, Vayne, Lucian, etc., but they don't personally resonate with my values. Nunu & Willump and Zoe lean more on the "fun and happy" than "kind and helpful" side of the spectrum, but I value those things, as well, so I'm excited to have a good number of characters that I can relate to in the jungle now (Ivern Nunu Taliyah).

Give me positivity any day!

Maybe it because people don't consider both negative and positive aspect of the whole thing they make posts like these. Riot has been taking a whole new direction to things regarding pg-13 and disney/pixar. Zoe, for one, is straight up pixar and the one who worte her narrative literally said he would just ignore the hater's because she go so much backlash. That alone should should tell you alot.

Yes, it's good that we have a character like Zoe/ Nunu, but if they're really going to appeal to certain groups(lgbt) and make things more light hearted with their story telling, why wouldn't some people be worried it's becoming the next WWE? On a side note, im going to laugh my ass off when the rating changes to a 9+.

it's not really too much disney exactly i think. alot of champs are very colorful and league's style is heavily stylized (which i love and in no way stops dark characters from existing)

There's always people complaining about edgelords too. Remember kayn release?

Honestly my biggest issue atm is just the lore powercreep. I genuinly couldn't care less about some boring ass all powerfull space dragon. I'd much rather read about characters like jinx, ekko, singed, Garen, MF, Lucian, etc...

Smaller scale characters who go through their own struggles that don't affect the whole damn world. I used to like Targon, i still love leona but the whole "we're a powerfull space race that basically is the foundation for any damn society on this planet" is boring as shit.
