We are all horrible monsters and here is why:

So, I was thinking the other day, (see obsessing over league) and my brain wandered to dragon. This majestic beast of a buff farm spawns on the rift with the sole purpose of being slain. Again. And again. And again. It has no ability to communicate, does not attack unless attacked, and is anchored to one place on the rift.

So what? It's just a monster, who cares.

Is it? IS IT REALLY?

Given Shyvana's backstory we know for a fact that dragons on Runeterra are sentient. So what about "just a monster" then? I then realized that this leaves us with a cold reality: A sentient creature has been enslaved on the rift only to be killed and res'd repeatedly in the selfish pursuit of power. You monster. With any luck it was some sort of draconic war criminal and deserves this fate. In which case we have continued its torture until it's mind broke and it became feral. Either that or given the draconian nature of dragons, (deal with it) it could have been born "defective" and abandoned by other dragons, leading us to take advantage of it's weakness for our own gains.
